Observational Study
A new optical coherence tomography method for subfoveal choroidal thickness measurement: A single-center observational study.
Several macular pathologies are associated with choroidal vascular supply and thus require choroidal thickness evaluation. However, there is no standard subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT) measurement method. This study investigated a new method of SFCT measurement, using optical coherence tomography. ⋯ The intraclass correlation coefficients of the SFCT angles were 0.647, 0.842, and 0.307, respectively (P < .001 for all). The new method showed the lowest interpersonal variability and could therefore be a reliable standard for SFCT measurement, even in foveae with a steep slope on optical coherence tomography. Trial registration: Not applicable.

Multiple clinical trials have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of erythropoietin in improving neurodevelopmental outcomes in infants with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). It is undoubtedly urgent to include only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for more standardized systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The purpose of this study is to examine whether erythropoietin reduces the risk of death and improve neurodevelopmental disorders in infants with HIE. ⋯ 10.17605/OSF.IO/FERUS.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Alpha lipoic acid with pulsed radiofrequency in treatment of chronic lumbosacral radicular pain: A prospective, randomized study.
The effect of adding alpha lipoic acid (ALA) to pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) for treatment of lumbar-sacral pain was evaluated. ⋯ The current study supports the use of ALA with PRF on the dorsal root ganglion for treating lumbosacral radicular pain.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an epidemic infectious disease resulted from 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Up till now, COVID-19 has swept globally. Currently, due to many high-profiled benefits, clinical studies on Toujie Quwen granule (TJQW) have been increasing. The aim of the study is to assess the efficacy and safety of TJQW used with conventional western therapy for COVID-19. ⋯ INPLASY202150038.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder characterized by the recurrence of abdominal pain and changes in bowel habits. Owing to the limitations of conventional treatments, patients with IBS are often dissatisfied with the effect of treatment and have a poor quality of life. Herbal medicines (HMs) are frequently used for the treatment of IBS. This protocol was designed through an overview of systematic reviews (SRs), to investigate the safety and efficacy of HMs for treating IBS. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/NT6WZ (https://osf.io/nt6wz).
