Observational Study
Determining the association between hypertension and bone metabolism markers in osteoporotic patients.
The aim of the case study is to examine the association between hypertension and the level of bone metabolism markers in newly diagnosed osteoporotic patients. A cross-sectional study of 518 subjects was done to see the association between hypertension and the level of osteocalcin (OC), bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (B-ALP), Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP.5B), and 25-hydroxy vitamin D (25-OHD). There were 243 (46.9%) osteoporosis patients with hypertension. ⋯ However, all the correlations had no statistical significance for the B-ALP and TRACP.5B. In conclusion, the hypertension was associated with low level of OC and 25-OHD. Hypertension probably led to low bone turnover, which may be one of the mechanisms of hypertension-related osteoporosis.

Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is a condition caused by a deficiency in pulmonary surfactant. Many interventions, including pulmonary surfactant, non-invasive respiratory support, and other supportive treatments have been used to prevent RDS. However, recent studies have focused on the continuous positive airway pressure as a significant potential agent for preventing RDS. However, its safety and effectiveness are yet to be assessed. To this end, the current study aims to perform to explore the safety and effectiveness of continuous positive airways in treating neonates with RDS. ⋯ May 20, 2021.osf.io/7nj8s. Programmed cell death-1/programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-1/PD-L1) inhibitors are a group of immune checkpoint inhibitors immunotherapy for cancer treatment. These immune checkpoint inhibitors are becoming first-line treatments for several types of cancer. Radiotherapy for cancer is a traditional treatment and the therapeutic effect is not satisfactory due to the side effect of chemotherapeutic drugs. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of PD1/PD-L1 inhibitor immunotherapy combined chemotherapy for inoperable advanced lung cancer. ⋯ INPLASY202140123.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is one of the most disabling and destructive neurological diseases. Neurogenic bladder dysfunction (NBD) is one of the serious complications after SCI, 80% of patients after SCI will have neurogenic bladder symptoms. NBD after SCI may lead to urinary retention, urinary incontinence, and urinary tract infection. In severe cases, it can lead to renal failure or even death. NBD after SCI not only seriously affects the patient's quality of life but also physical and mental health. NBD after SCI is a social and medical problem. In recent years, more and more clinical studies prove that heat-sensitive can improve the clinical symptoms of NBD after SCI. Therefore, this article conducts a systematic evaluation and meta-analysis on the efficacy and safety of heat-sensitive moxibustion in treating NBD after SCI. ⋯ INPLASY202150071.

Aseptic meningoencephalitis is a rare central nervous system complication of relapsing polychondritis (RP). ⋯ RP-associated meningoencephalitis is a rare complication with significant morbidity and mortality. It should be considered and differentiated in patients with RP with unexplained spiking fever and impaired consciousness. In addition, the assessment of cerebrospinal fluid interleukin-6 levels may be useful to investigate the disease activity of RP-related meningoencephalitis. Further prospective studies are required to confirm this result.
