Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR) is a common sensory, motor, and reflex disorder. Numbness, a common subjective symptom of CSR, lacks objective quantitative indicators and recognized effective treatments, but is also difficult to recover from. We present a case report describing a traditional acupuncture treatment for CSR, utilizing a special acupuncture method and point, namely the Yunmen point. ⋯ Our report indicates that acupuncture at the LU 2 acupoint combined with neck-seven-acupoint is effective in treating numbness and coldness of the arm, and other neurological symptoms caused by cervical spondylosis. Moreover, with the appropriate acupuncture technique, the risk of acupuncture at the LU 2 acupoint can be minimized.

The risk of colorectal neoplasm in ex- and never-smokers according to urinary cotinine level.
To investigate the relationship between urinary cotinine and colorectal neoplasm (CRN). The participants in the health screening cohort of the National Cancer Center who underwent screening colonoscopy between June 2007 and December 2009 were included. A total of 8121 subjects who underwent urinary cotinine measurement within 14 days from the index colonoscopy were included. ⋯ The cumulative incidence of CRN and ACRN was higher in the cotinine-positive never- and ex-smokers than in the cotinine-negative never- and ex-smokers (P < .001 and P = .008, respectively). CRN or ACRN is more likely to occur at follow-up colonoscopy in the urinary cotinine-positive never- and ex-smokers than in the urinary cotinine-negative group. Therefore, urinary cotinine measurements may provide useful information on never- or ex-smokers undergoing screening colonoscopy.

Digestive tumor is one of the most common cancers, its symptoms and treatment will bring patients with anxiety, depression and other negative emotions, and cause cancer-related fatigue. As a new complementary replacement therapy, music therapy can greatly reduce cancer-related fatigue, anxiety and depression, and achieve good clinical results, but there is a lack of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of music therapy on cancer-related fatigue, anxiety, and depression in patients with digestive tumors by meta-analysis. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/UR4GV.

Breast cancer was the second cause of cancer death and approximately accounted for 30% of all newly diagnosed cancer in American women. Adjuvant chemotherapy is the preferred treatment approach for breast patients. Kanglaite injection (KI) was commonly used as adjuvant chemotherapy combined with chemotherapy for women breast cancer which could increase chemotherapy efficacy and alleviate chemotherapy drugs induced adverse events, however, the efficacy and safety for KI combined western medicine remains controversial. Thus, we conducted this protocol of systematic review and meta-analysis to estimate the efficacy and safety of KI combined with western medicine for women breast cancer. ⋯ This protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis will evaluate the efficacy and safety of KI combined with chemotherapy for women breast cancer, aiming to provide optimal therapy for women breast cancer patients.
