Effects of chromosomal abnormalities on pregnancy outcomes in female undergoing artificial insemination with donor's sperm.
This study aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics, pregnancy outcomes and prognostic factors for pregnancy of female with chromosomal abnormalities (CAs) after artificial insemination with donor's sperm (AID) treatment. A retrospective case-control study was analyzed by using the data of 29 female patients with CA and 116 controlled patients with normal karyotype (1:4 ratio) who underwent AID cycles at Guangdong Family Planning Special Hospital from January 2011 to December 2017. In all cases, reproductive histories were collected, and the cytogenetic analysis was performed by Trypsin-Giemsa banding and karyotyping. ⋯ The live birth rates of CA group and controlled group were 41.4% and 31.0% (P = .29) respectively. Compared to normal karyotype group, patients with CA showed higher rate of primary infertility (93.1% vs 75.9%, P = .049); Multivariate analysis demonstrated that ovarian stimulation (odds ratio, 3.055; 95% confidence interval, 1.421-6.568; P = .004) was associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes in female patients with AID treatment. For the infertility CA patients who were phenotypically normal, AID was a suitable choice, whereas ovarian stimulation results in an improvement in the pregnancy rate.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia is a special subtype of acute myeloid leukemia. The incidence of early death and complications is high. An oral regimen of all-trans retinoic acid combined with the realgar-indigo naturalis formula (RIF) without chemotherapy has provided a new strategy for the treatment of these patients. ⋯ The regimen was safe and effective, and subsequent treatment did not require hospitalization, which helped to improve the patient's quality of life.

Analysis of the curative effect of percutaneous kyphoplasty in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture with intravertebral clefts.
Kummell's disease is a delayed vertebral collapse fracture caused by posttraumatic osteonecrosis. It is a special type of osteoporotic vertebral fracture in the elderly. This study compares and analyzes the difference in the curative effect of 2 kinds of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) in the presence of fracture or not in the vertebral body, and provides a clinical reference for the application of percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP). ⋯ No statistical difference was found in Cobb Angle before and after surgery (P > .05), as well as the correction rate of the injured vertebrae before and after surgery (P > .05). There was no statistical difference in the degree of recovery of the anterior, middle and posterior margins of the injured vertebrae after surgery (P > .05). PKP treatment led to better degree of pain relief in OVCF patients without intravertebral clefts, and less bone cement was injected into the surgery.

Case-control studies by examining the lumbar spine computed tomography (CT) findings focusing on the spinous processes."Passing spine" was defined as a lumbar degenerative change observed on CT images. In contrast, kissing spine, which is also an image finding, has been acknowledged as an established clinical condition. ⋯ Compared with patients with kissing spine, patients with passing spine had an increased incidence of lower extremity pain, lower intervertebral disc height at the level of passing spine, relatively static LL, and VP commonly observed in the intervertebral discs at the level of passing spine. Because the clinical and imaging characteristics of patients with passing spine are different from those of patients with kissing spine, passing spine might be a pathological condition distinct from kissing spine.

Blood pressure measurement during cesarean delivery: Evaluation of a beat-to-beat noninvasive device (NexfinTM).
Early detection of arterial hypotension during cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia is important. This study aims to compare the validity of NexfinTM as beat-to-beat noninvasive blood pressure monitoring with conventional intermittent oscillometric measurement of blood pressure during elective cesarean delivery. This open prospective observational bicentric study was performed between January 2013 and December 2015. ⋯ The median [25-75 percentiles] duration to detect the first hypotensive measurement was 331 [206-480] seconds for NexfinTM and 440 [300-500] s for intermittent oscillometry (P < .001). The agreement between NexfinTM and an intermittent method for the measurement of systolic blood pressure was not in an acceptable range during cesarean delivery, although NexfinTM may detect hypotension earlier than the standard method.
