Case Reports
Calcifying aponeurotic fibroma around posterior tibialis tendon in an elderly patient with flatfoot: A case report.
Calcifying aponeurotic fibroma (CAF) is a rare benign fibroblastic tumor that is commonly in the hand or foot of children or adolescents. ⋯ This is the first case of CAF located at PTT presenting with both foot pain and functional disability. In this case, complete excision of the causative structure along with alignment correction can contribute to successful postoperative outcome.

Electrocardiographic changes in young patients with spontaneous pneumothorax: A retrospective study.
Primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) commonly occurs in adolescents. PSP symptoms can mimic cardiac event. We aimed to examine electrocardiography (ECG) changes that accompanied PSP in relation to side and size of pneumothorax. ⋯ ECG changes were found in 21% among pediatric patients with PSP. No correlation was observed between ECG changes and side/size of pneumothorax. It is important to rule out pneumothorax among children presented with chest pain, dyspnea and ECG changes.

Meta Analysis
Use of traditional Chinese medicine as an adjunctive treatment for COVID-19: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
This review aims to evaluate the supportive effects of frequently used traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). ⋯ The integration of TCM with Western medicine has significantly improved the treatment for COVID-19 patients compared to Western medicine treatment alone. Combined therapy using TCM and Western medicine revealed the potential adjunctive role of TCM in treating COVID-19. However, high-quality clinical studies are still required to further evaluate the efficacy and safety of TCM in the treatment of COVID-19.

Review Case Reports
Sugammadex induced bradycardia and hypotension: A case report and literature review.
There is evidence that sugammadex can facilitate extubation post-surgery and attenuate postoperative pulmonary complications resulting from postoperative residual neuromuscular blockade. However, it may induce adverse effects, including bronchospasm, laryngospasm, bradycardia, hypotension, and cardiac arrest. Here, we present a case of sugammadex-induced bradycardia and hypotension. ⋯ Sugammadex-induced bradycardia or cardiac arrest are rare; however, anesthesiologists must consider the possibility of the occurrence of such events and initiate appropriate management measures. Immediate treatment with atropine and inotropic or vasopressors is warranted if the patient presents with bradycardia.

The pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has spread wildly across the world. In March of 2020, almost all kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) schools were closed in the United States in an urgent attempt to curb the pandemic in the absence of effective therapeutics or vaccination. Thirteen months since then, schools remain partially closed. Accumulated evidence suggests that children and adolescents are not the primary facilitators of transmission, limiting the restrictive effects of school closures on disease transmission. The negative effects of school closures on K-12 students need to be systematically reviewed. ⋯ School closures were over-weighted against the mitigation of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) transmission. A safe reopening of all K-12 schools in the United States should be of top priority.
