Fixation options for reconstruction of the greater trochanter in unstable intertrochanteric fracture with arthroplasty.
With the aggravation of population aging, the incidence of intertrochanteric fracture also increases dramatically. Patients are often elderly accompany with severe osteoporosis and various complications. Therefore, we should select an individualized treatment based on the each patient's state. Arthroplasty is recommended for unstable fractures with obvious osteoporosis, ipsilateral femoral head necrosis or arthritis. Rigid fixation of the greater trochanter with arthroplasty is challenging because of the powerful pulling forces created by multiple muscles being transmitted to the greater trochanter. Currently, there are few contemporary literatures on the evaluation of unstable intertrochanteric fracture with efficient fixation of the greater trochanter. Moreover, there is no consensus to choose which implant to immobilize the greater trochanter. The purpose of this study was to review previous literatures and provide a valuable guidance. ⋯ The locking plate, which not only provides rigid fixation but also results in lower rate of postoperative complications. However, further prospective randomized and cohort studies are needed.

Whether music therapy improves coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients' anxiety, depression, and life quality are still controversial. Therefore, to provide evidence-based medical evidence for clinical non-pharmacological interventions, we performed a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of music therapy for COVID-19 patients' anxiety, depression, and life quality. ⋯ This study will provide reliable evidence-based evidence for the effects of music therapy on COVID-19 patients' anxiety, depression, and life quality.

Due to the rarity of solitary bone plasmacytoma (SBP), few studies reported the prognosis and survival predictors of SBP, especially for patients with extremity SBP. A total of 552 patients with extremity SBP were identified from the Surveillance Epidemiology and Ends Results (SEER) database between 1973 and 2016. In order to obtain independent predictors of survival, we performed both univariate and multivariate analysis via Cox proportional hazards model. ⋯ Our findings highlight that radiotherapy is the mainstream treatment for extremity SBP. Additionally, age, year of diagnosis, and marital status were significant independent predictors of survival. Knowledge of these survival predictors may help clinicians provide appropriate management for extremity SBP patients.

Acne vulgaris (AV) is a common dermatologic disease. The morbidity is increasing annually. External application of herbal medicines (EAHM) has been pervasively used in the therapy of AV. EAHM , as the traditional Chinese therapy, is widely applied in clinical trials for AV. The aim of this review is to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of EAHM in the therapy for AV. ⋯ The summary of our systematic view will provide evidence to judge whether EAHM is an effective and safe intervention for AV patients.

Endometrial cancer (EC) is the sixth most common cancer in women globally. It has been found that the expression levels of m6A regulators can be potentially used for prognostic stratification in some cancers, but the role of m6A regulators in EC prognosis remains unclear. ⋯ We first report the prognostic role of m6A regulators in EC, which should contribute to a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms of EC pathogenesis and progression.
