High-impact aerobics programme supplemented by pelvic floor muscle training does not impair the function of pelvic floor muscles in active nulliparous women: A randomized control trial.
We aimed to test the hypothesis that high-impact aerobics programme, combined with pelvic floor muscle training does not impair pelvic floor muscle function in young active women. ⋯ High-impact aerobics, supplemented by pelvic floor muscle training can be recommended for active nulliparas.

To determine the prognostic risk factors of patients with acute epidural hematoma (AEDH), a scoring system was established based on gray-white matter ratio (GWR) and internal verification was performed. All patients with AEDH who underwent surgical treatment in Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital from January 2013 to June 2019 were continuously collected. The clinical and imaging data of the patients were collected. ⋯ Moreover, the prediction ability of nomogram was higher than any other independent predictive factors. The nomogram model established represents the most effective factor to predict the prognosis of operated AEDH. The scoring system is characterized by high accuracy, simplicity and feasibility, with a wide range of clinical application prospects.

The objective of this report was to introduce a new suture augmentation of coracoclavicular (CC) and acromioclavicular ligament reconstruction for acute Rockwood grade III to V acromioclavicular dislocations. From January 2015 to January 2019, 43 patients with Rockwood III to VI acute acromioclavicular dislocations were retrospectively reviewed. For comparison, another series of 28 patients treated with double Endobutton technique from January 2011 to December 2014 were reviewed. ⋯ The excellent to good percentages were 100% (n = 32) and 85% (n = 23), respectively. In conclusion, the suture augmentation of acromioclavicular and CC ligament reconstruction is a reliable technique for acute acromioclavicular dislocation with minimal complications. To explore the predictive value of preoperative serum squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) level for lymph node metastasis (LNM), particularly, in patients surgically treated for early-stage cervical squamous cell carcinoma. We enrolled 162 patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma stages IB to IIA following the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) 2009 classification. The patients had previously undergone radical surgery. ⋯ The sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis were 69.4% and 65.9%, respectively. High SCC-Ag level was revealed to be an independent risk factor for the prognosis of squamous carcinoma of the cervix before an operation. Besides, SCC-Ag (2.75 ng/mL) can be utilized as a potential marker to predict LNM in early stage cervical cancer before an operation.

Postoperative delirium (PD) remains an issue in cardiac surgery despite the constant efforts to reduce its incidence. In this retrospective study, the incidence of PD was evaluated in patients who underwent cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) according to different primary anesthetic agents: sevoflurane and dexmedetomidine- versus propofol-based anesthesia. A total of 534 patients who underwent heart-valve surgery or coronary artery bypass graft surgery with CPB between January 2012 and August 2017 were divided into 2 groups according to the main anesthetic agent: sevoflurane with dexmedetomidine (sevo-dex group, n = 340) and propofol (propofol group, n = 194). ⋯ Older age, lower preoperative albumin levels, and emergency surgery were significant risk factors for PD. The overall incidence of PD after cardiac surgery with CPB did not differ between patients receiving sevoflurane and dexmedetomidine-based versus propofol-based anesthesia. Only hyperactive PD occurred less frequently in patients receiving sevoflurane and dexmedetomidine-based anesthesia.
