Parkinson disease (PD) is a heterogeneous neurodegenerative disorder. Dopamine transporter imaging using 123I-2β-carbomethoxy-3β-(4-iodophenyl)-N-(3-fluoropropyl)-nortropane (FP-CIT) and noradrenergic cardiac imaging using 123I-meta-iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) have been used in combination or separately to study PD patients. Published results regarding uptake of the 2 tracers in each motor subtype are fairly abundant and mostly in agreement. ⋯ There was a significant intrasubject correlation between H/M and S/N of the lentiform nucleus in AR-PD but no correlation between H/M and any of 4 S/N in TD-PD. Our data suggest a coupled degeneration of nigrostriatal dopaminergic and myocardial sympathetic denervation in AR subtype, but not in TD subtype, of early PD patients. These different results between the 2 motor subtypes likely reflects the heterogeneous pathophysiology of PD.

Blood blister aneurysms (BBAs) are intracranial arterial lesions appearing in nonbranching sites of the supraclinoid internal carotid artery as well as the basilar artery. Endovascular treatment of BBAs is still not well established because of the rarity of these lesions. We report incidences of BBAs with associated vasospasms. ⋯ PLED assisted endovascular coiling is very safe and efficient in treating patients with BBAs. Resolution of CVSs after treatment made the PLEDs seemly shorter. Furthermore, a combination of arterial lengthening after gaining their tensile strength back and radical expansion of the PLED could account for the shortening.

The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has changed people's way of life and posed great challenges to plastic surgery. Most of plastic surgeries are considered elective surgeries and are recommended to be delayed. But breast reconstruction in plastic surgery is special. Doctors' associations from different countries have different rules on whether breast reconstruction surgery should be delayed. For the controversial topic of immediate breast reconstruction in the COVID-19 pandemic, we conducted this study. ⋯ In our opinion, breast cancer surgery belongs to confine operation, and breast reconstruction surgery should be performed immediately after the completion of breast cancer surgery. We recommend the use of breast implants for breast reconstruction surgery during the COVID-19 epidemic. Due to the limitations of the study, our proposed protocol for breast reconstruction surgery during the COVID-19 epidemic needs to be further validated in clinical studies.

This study aimed to investigate the association between serum uric acid (SUA) level and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM). T2DM patients hospitalized in the Department of Hepatology, Yantai Qishan Hospital, between April 2012 and December 2018 were classified into the NAFLD group and the non-NAFLD group. Clinical data, glucose and lipid metabolism biomarkers, and liver and kidney function parameters were retrospectively collected. ⋯ The level of SUA in T2DM patients was associated with the occurrence of NAFLD. Elevated SUA was associated with a significantly increased prevalence of NAFLD. The SUA level was an independent risk factor for NAFLD occurrence in patients with T2DM.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the tumors with a higher mortality rate globally, which significantly threatens people's health. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a major driving factor of HCC. This study aims to determine the key microRNA (miRNA), hub genes, and related pathways, construct potential miRNA-mRNA regulatory networks, and clarify the new molecular mechanism of HCV-related HCC. ⋯ Based on the above analysis, the miRNA-hub gene regulatory network was constructed. In short, this research's hub genes and miRNAs closely related to HCV-related HCC were screened and identified through bioinformatics analysis and then built their connection. These results are expected to find potential therapeutic targets for HCV-related HCC.
