Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Effects of rational emotive psychotherapy consort on business education students' perception about image of technical vocational education and training in South-East Nigeria.
We determined the effects of rational-emotive psychotherapy on the perception of Business Education Students about TVET Image. Negative perception about TVET by youths, parents and the society has made TVET programs unattractive, uninteresting, less productive and by extension created an unhealthy organizational climate. Improving participants' perception will assist them to mitigate the effect of irrational beliefs, emotional distress, strengthening their psychosocial wellbeing and occupational health. ⋯ It was concluded that the REBT-oriented therapy helped to improve the emotional distress, irrational beliefs, and poor perception of the Business Education students who perceived TVET programs as an inferior and low-esteemed profession.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of molecular targeted agents (MTAs) in chemo on platinum-resistant recurrent ovarian cancer (ROC). We performed this meta-analysis according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statements. Randomized controlled trials reporting data about platinum-resistant ovarian cancer treated by MTAs were included. ⋯ Besides, the combination of MTAs with chemo dramatically aggravated the occurrence of adverse events (P < .05). Moreover, it resulted in the termination of treatment (P = .044) in those patients, but it had no effect on fatal adverse events (P = .16). Our results indicated that the combination of MTAs with chemo notably improved objective response rate in patients with platinum-resistant ROC, but its benefit did not translate into survival benefits.

Meta Analysis
A meta-analysis of the influence of body mass index on the clinicopathologic progression of papillary thyroid carcinoma.
Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) incidence has been increasing worldwide. Obesity, that is, having a high body mass index, is associated with the incidence of several cancers including colon, breast, esophageal, and kidney cancer. However, the association between obesity and the clinical features of PTC is still unknown. This study aimed to determine the impact of obesity on the clinical features of PTC. ⋯ Obesity was associated with several poor clinicopathologic prognostic features: older age, male gender, tumor size ≥1 cm, extrathyroidal extension, multifocality, and advanced tumor/node/metastasis stage. However, thyroid-stimulating hormone level, vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and recurrence were not associated with obesity in PTC.

Observational Study
Association of sleep disturbance with calcitonin, disease severity and health index among patients with ankylosing spondylitis.
To investigate the association of sleep disturbance with calcium regulatory hormones, disease severity and health index among the patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). There were 104 AS patients enrolled in the cross-sectional study, and their sleep quality was recorded. Serum levels of calcium, parathyroid hormone, vitamin D3 and calcitonin were measured. ⋯ Serum calcitonin levels was elevated in the AS patients with bad sleep, and may participate in the pathophysiology of sleep disturbance. Bad sleep was associated with female gender, longer disease duration, higher inflammation, disease activity, functional impairment, mobility restriction, poor patient's global assessment and health index in AS. ASDAS-CRP was best in predicting bad sleep.

Comparative Study
Comparison of two different scleral fixation techniques of posterior chamber Carlevale lens.
To investigate the surgical outcomes of 2 different scleral fixation techniques of the new single-piece foldable acrylic Carlevale lens (Soleko) and to compare our results with previous reports of the literature. A retrospective, non-randomized comparative study involving 2 series of patients who underwent 2 different scleral fixation techniques of Carlevale lens was performed. Minimum follow-up of 3 months was requested for inclusion in the study. ⋯ Rupture of 1 of the 2 tips of the plug was observed in 1 patient of group 1 during the externalization. Carlevale lens is a scleral fixated intra ocular lens specifically designed for posterior chamber implantation that could be successfully managed without any significant difference between the 2 surgical techniques, and appears approachable for anterior and posterior segment surgeons. A 25-gauge sclerotomy should be preferred with the aim of a sutureless surgery regardless the technique employed.
