Despite the development of human papillomavirus vaccines and significant improvement in cervical cancer screening over the past few years, cervical cancer remains the fourth most common cancer in women of childbearing age after breast cancer, melanoma, and thyroid cancer. ⋯ Although further data are required, in pregnant women with invasive cervical cancer, NACT with cisplatin plus paclitaxel followed by cesarean delivery and radical hysterectomy was a practical treatment option.

This study aimed to investigate the time trend variation in the surgical volume and prognostic outcome of patients with lung cancer after the gradual prolonged implementation of a low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) lung cancer screening program. Using the hospital-based cancer registry data on number of patients with lung cancer and deaths from 2008 to 2017, we conducted a retrospective study using a hospital-based cohort to investigate the relationship between changes in lung cancer surgical volume, the proportion of lung-sparing surgery, and prolonged prognostic outcomes after the gradual implementation of the LDCT lung cancer screening program in recent years. From 2008 to 2017, 3251 patients were diagnosed with lung cancer according to the hospital-based cancer registry. ⋯ The volume of total lung cancer surgical procedures and proportion of lung-sparing surgery performed gradually increased significantly from 2008 to 2017, especially from 2014 to 2017 after implementation of a large volume of LDCT lung cancer screening examinations. In conclusion, our real-world data suggest that there will be an increase in cases of operable early-stage lung cancers, which in turn will increase the surgical volume and proportion of lung-sparing surgery, after the gradual implementation of the LDCT lung cancer screening program in recent years. These findings suggest the importance of a successful national policy regarding LDCT screening programs, regulation of shortage of thoracic surgeons, thoracic radiologist workforce training positions, and education programs.

To investigate the anxiety and depression of patients with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) who participated in Baduanjin exercise. From February 20, 2020 to March 7, 2020, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression scale (HAD) were used to investigate the anxiety and depression levels of patients with COVID-19 who participated in Baduanjin exercise. Ninety one questionnaires were received, including 40 males and 51 females. ⋯ Bachelor degree or above with low scores for anxiety and depression. The frequency of Baduanjin exercise was negatively correlated with anxiety and depression score. The development of Baduanjin exercise has a certain positive influence on the COVID-19 patients in the Square cabin hospital, which is conducive to alleviate anxiety and depression symptoms of the patients.

All of the injuries were the open injuries with bone or tendon structures in the hand and wrist region as a result of the firearm injury (FI) in the Syria. In the study, we assessed the outcomes of the posterior interosseous flap (PIF) on hand and wrist that we used for the Syrian injured people including civilians and soldiers in this War. PIF was applied to 77 patients who composed of 43 female and 34 male that all patients were evaluated for tissue loss resulting from gunshot wounds and injured in the War between 2014 and 2020 years with tissue loss in hand and wrist as a result of FI. ⋯ We found the superiority of PIF with the postoperative follow-up comfort, ease of fracture healing, easy and fast, easy-to-apply method and no second additional session requirement in FI patients. We did not detect flap necrosis in any patient or observe a flap-related complication. As a result of the present study, it strongly supports the thesis that PIF is the best option in these cases.

Shear wave elastography of the scalene muscles in healthy adults: A preliminary study.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the reliability of shear wave elastography to assess the anterior and middle scalene muscles in healthy adult subjects. The study included 60 scalene muscles in 15 healthy subjects. High-resolution ultrasound and shear wave elastography were used to evaluate the anterior scalene and the middle scalene muscles. ⋯ Positive correlation was noted between the left middle scalene muscle and body mass index (P = .004). No difference in elasticity was noted between the right and left anterior scalene muscles; however, significant difference was noted between the right and left middle scalene muscles (P = .002). The results obtained in our study could be a reference point for future research considering different scalene muscle pathologies.
