Multicenter Study Observational Study
Decline in serum albumin concentration is a predictor of serious events in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is associated with metabolic syndrome, which includes diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia. A fraction of NAFLD patients develop nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, leading to cirrhosis associated with various serious complications, including hepatocellular carcinoma, gastroesophageal varices, cardiovascular events, and other organ malignancy. Although the incidence of chronic viral hepatitis with associated complications has gradually decreased as highly effective antiviral therapies have been established, the number of patients with steatohepatitis has been increasing. ⋯ This albumin decline was only the associated factor with the event incidence by multivariate analysis (P < .01). Annual decline in serum albumin concentration in patients with NAFLD is associated with serious events from the outcome of multicenter retrospective study. This highlights its potential utility as a surrogate marker to assess the efficacy of prediction of NAFLD related serious events.

Alveolar soft part sarcomas (ASPS) which has high potential ability of metastasis, is a rare and slowly growing malignant tumor, and mainly primary localized in limbs. To date, little is known about the best treatment of ASPS. This study aims to review the current management and advance of ASPS. ⋯ Complete surgical resection is the cure treatment for ASPS, and adjuvant chemotherapy is not recommended excepted clinical trials. For the patients with micro- or macroscopical incomplete residue, radiotherapy should be appreciated. Furthermore, for recurrence, distant metastasis, and refractory of ASPS, combination therapy, especially combination with multiple target agents and/or immune checkpoint inhibitors may prolong survival time.

Comparison of ventriculoperitoneal shunt to lumboperitoneal shunt in the treatment of idiopathic: A monocentric, assessor-blinded, randomized controlled trial.
Ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) and lumboperitoneal shunt (LPS) remain the mainstay of idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (INPH). There are no randomized controlled trials completed to compare the efficacy of these 2 shunt techniques. ⋯ The results of this trial will provide state-of-the-art evidence on the treatment option for patients with INPH, and will also generate the discussion regarding this subject.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak began in late 2019 and spread rapidly throughout China and then the rest of the world. COVID-19 is a serious respiratory disease and many patients' exhibit varying levels of persistent parenchymal lung damage. However, there is currently a lack of effective rehabilitation treatments for COVID-19 patients with lung damage. Several clinical trials have shown that Liuzijue Qigong (LQG) can enhance the strength of respiratory muscles and overall quality of life. In this study, a meta-analysis approach was used to assess the effects of LQG on the lung function of COVID-19 patients during disease recovery. ⋯ This study will provide reliable evidence based on the effects of LQG on the lung function of COVID-19 patients during disease recovery.

Effects of general anesthesia on quality of recovery after transaxillary endoscopic breast augmentation: A randomized controlled trial.
Types of general anesthesia may affect the quality of recovery, but few studies have investigated the quality of postoperative recovery, and none has focused on patients undergoing breast augmentation. ⋯ For the patients undergoing transaxillary endoscopic breast augmentation, the type of general anesthesia did not significantly impact the quality of recovery. Both IH or TIVA could provide good quality of recovery demonstrated by high QoR-15 total scores. The results suggested that the type of general anesthesia may not be the most critical factors of quality of recovery in the patients undergoing transaxillary endoscopic breast augmentation.
