To determine factors associated with lateralization in primary aldosteronism (PA). The clinical data for PA patients hospitalized at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from October 2016 to March 2021 were included in this study. They were classified according to results derived from computed tomography (CT): bilaterally normal nodules (no typical nodules were found in either adrenal glands, only changes in unilateral adrenal hyperplasia thickening or bilateral adrenal hyperplasia thickening), unilateral nodules (typical nodule appears in unilateral adrenal gland, and there are no abnormalities in the contralateral adrenal gland or only thickening of unilateral adrenal hyperplasia) and bilateral nodules (typical nodule like changes in bilateral adrenal glands). ⋯ Maximum systolic blood pressure, typical nodules, and history of stroke are important factors to consider when screening for UPA. It is recommended to combine medical history and imaging findings when looking at different subgroups before a clinical decision is made. Patients with PA in the absence of lesions or bilateral lesions on CT should be diagnosed by AVS as far as possible.

To evaluate the safety and clinical application of a computer-aided surgery system (CAS) combined with high-frequency bronchial ventilation in 2-port thoracoscopic anatomical segmentectomy. A total of 301 patients who underwent 2-port thoracoscopic segmentectomy between January 1, 2019 and March 1, 2022 in the 960th Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Zibo Municipal Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. The experimental and control groups were created according to the different methods of appearing the intersegmental plane of the lung. ⋯ There was no significant difference in Forced expiratory volume in 1 second/Forced vital capacity [(101.05 ± 11.86) vs (101.86 ± 11.61)], maximum expiratory volume [(86.36 ± 17.59 L) vs (85.28 ± 17.68 L)], the diameter of lung nodules [(13.61 ± 3.51 cm) vs (13.21 ± 3.41 cm)], intraoperative blood loss [(47.50 ± 45.90 mL) vs (48.49 ± 34.65 mL)], postoperative drainage volume [(425.16 ± 221.61 mL) vs (444.70 ± 243.72 mL)], drainage tube removal time [(3.88 ± 1.85 days) vs (3.43 ± 1.81 days)], or postoperative hospital stay [(6.07 ± 2.14 days) vs (5.82 ± 1.88 days) between the experimental group and the control group (P > .05)]. There were significant differences in operation time [(95.05 ± 26.85 min) vs (117.85 ± 31.70 min), P = .017] and intersegmental plane appearance time [(2.37 ± 1.03 min) vs (14.20 ± 3.23 min), P < .001]. High-frequency bronchial ventilation is safe and feasible when used in quickly and accurately identifying the intersegmental plane and is worthy of clinical application in 2-port thoracoscopic segmentectomy.

Advances in next-generation sequencing technologies are changing the ways cancer diagnosis and treatment, which leads to a new branch of precision medicine: "Precision Oncology". This study aims to deliver a structured overview to carry out a bibliometric analysis of precision oncology research over the past 10 years retrospectively. ⋯ Precision oncology serves as an essential method in clinical treatment, and is closely related to biological study, including biochemistry, molecular and genetics, advanced technology, and pharmacology discovery. The future research prospect would be the broad involvement of social participation and global cooperation in oncology precision research to acquire better results via the balance of technology and public health policy.

Acute heart failure (AHF) is life-threatening medical condition requiring hospital admission and appropriate oxygen therapy. High flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy (HFNC) has gained its popularity in treatment of AHF, however, there were less studies have demonstrated the physiological efficacy of HFNC. Purpose of this study was to evaluated the physiological responses and clinical outcomes of HFNC by comparing with noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV) therapy. ⋯ Changes of left ventricular function parameters, ABG and clinical outcomes were all improved satisfactorily after 24 h medical interventions in both group, what's more, patients underwent HFNC therapy could acquire a better amelioration when compared with NPPV groups (P < .05). HFNC may be an ideal model for patients with AHF, particularly those with hypoxemia. HFNC therapy could significantly improve several objective parameters of physiological responses and clinical outcomes.

We investigated the value of subcarinal lymph node dissection in esophageal cancer surgery. Altogether, 240 patients with esophageal cancer admitted to our department between June 2012 and January 2016 were prospectively assigned to an experimental group (subcarinal lymph node dissection group, n = 120 cases) and a control group (uncleaned group, n = 120 cases). The number of subcarinal lymph nodes and the rate of subcarinal lymph node metastasis were determined, and the factors influencing subcarinal lymph node metastasis were analyzed using logistic regression in the experimental group. ⋯ The 5-year survival rate was higher in the experimental group than in the control group (44.2% vs 30.0%, χ2 = 6.407, P = .04). The subcarinal lymph node metastasis rate in patients with esophageal cancer is high. Patients with mid-thoracic esophageal cancers that infiltrate beyond the esophageal muscle layer with subcarinal lymph node size > 1.0 cm should undergo lymph node resection, despite increased operation time, incidence of postoperative pulmonary infection, hospitalization time, and total postoperative cost; lymph node resection may improve the 5-year survival rate.
