To explore serum amyloid A (SAA) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) as potential diagnostic biomarkers for gastric cancer (GCa) and the application value of the combined diagnosis of SAA, IL6, and Cancer embryonic antigen. Serum samples were collected before the initial surgery from 159 patients comprising samples from 122 patients with GCa and 37 patients with benign gastric disease. All patients were hospitalized at Beijing Aerospace General Hospital in China between 2018 and 2020. ⋯ Spearman's correlation analysis indicated obvious correlations among the levels of serum SAA, IL-6, advanced FIGO stage, lymphatic invasion, and distant metastasis. AA and IL-6 may serve as useful biomarkers for poor prognosis of GCa. Clinical diagnosis combined with SAA and IL-6 may help assess therapeutic outcomes.

Keloid is a type of benign tumor of the skin with abnormal proliferation of fibrous tissue. We sought to observe the changes in skin microcirculation and endothelial cell function around the recurred keloid and explore the skin microcirculation characters in recurred keloid patients. ⋯ There are significant differences in the expression of VEGF, CD31, and HIF-1α in the recurred keloid skin after radiotherapy and normal skin. They may be used as potential biomarkers and targets for future research on keloid recurrence.

To systematically evaluate the guidelines for endometriosis published in the past decade, and to provide reference for the selection of guidelines for endometriosis through quality evaluation and comparison. ⋯ The quality of endometriosis CPG released in 2013 to 2020 is quite different, and some CPGs are not ideal in terms of rigor, applicability and independence. The guidelines issued by NICE in 2017 are A-grade recommendations. The standardized scores in various fields are high, and the formation process of CPG is the most standardized, which is worth learning and reference.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of once daily (OD) or every 48 hours (every-48-h) administration of amikacin (AMK) on renal function and ototoxicity in neonates. We investigated the frequency of nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity in neonates who received AMK OD or every-48-h from April 2015 to March 2021 and underwent dose evaluation by therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). In addition, the relationships among birth weight, gestational age, AMK peak and trough values, total duration of AMK administration, and total AMK dose were examined separately for nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity. ⋯ However, compared with OD, the every-48-h group had lower body weight and possibly poorer original renal function. In addition, ototoxicity did not differ by administration method. Based on these results, every-48-h administration of AMK can be used as safely as OD by performing TDM and preventing high concentrations.

Baihe Zhimu decoction (BZD) has significant antidepressant properties and is widely used to treat mental diseases. However, the multitarget mechanism of BZD in postpartum depression (PPD) remains to be elucidated. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore the molecular mechanisms of BDZ in treating PPD using network pharmacology and molecular docking. ⋯ Combining the PPI network and KEGG enrichment analysis, we found that ESR1, MAOA, NR3C1, VEGFA, and mTOR were the key targets of PPD. In addition, molecular docking confirmed the high affinity between BZD and the PPD target. Verified by a network pharmacology approach based on data mining and molecular docking methods, the multi-target drug BZD may serve as a promising therapeutic candidate for PPD, but further in vivo/in vitro experiments are needed.
