Distant metastasis explains the high mortality rate of colon cancer, in which lung metastasis without liver metastasis (LuM) is a rare subtype. This study is aimed to identify risk factors of LuM and LLM (lung metastasis with liver metastasis) from colon cancer, and to analyze the prognosis of patients with LuM by creating a nomogram. Patients' information were obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. ⋯ In addition, age, primary site, tumor size, differentiation grade, N stage, and bone metastasis were significantly different between LuM and LLM. The nomograms we created were effective in predicting the survival of individuals. Furthermore, patients with LuM and LLM from colon cancer might require different follow-up intervals and examinations.

Based on network pharmacology and molecular docking, this study discusses the potential mechanism of Gancao Xiexin decoction in the treatment of Behçet disease (BD) to provide a more reliable theoretical basis for the treatment of BD. ⋯ Gancao Xiexin decoction synergistically treats BD through multi-component, multi-target, and multi-channel mechanisms, which provides a basis for further study of the active components and mechanism of Gancao Xiexin decoction.

Immunosuppressive therapy is the frontline treatment for aplastic anemia patients ineligible for transplantation. The long-term effects of hematopoietic growth factors (HGF) added to standard immunosuppressive therapy are still unclear. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to clarify this issue. ⋯ HGF as an adjunct to IST has no impact on long-term OS, late clonal malignant evolution, response rate, relapse or infections occurrence. HGF could be added to standard IST for high-risk patients with delayed neutrophil recovery without concern for long-term consequences but could not be recommended as routine clinical practice.

To investigate the clinical significance of Tensin4 (TNS4) in human cancers, particularly lung cancer, we mined the Cancer Genome Atlas database for lung adenocarcinoma (TCGA-LUAD) and the Gene Expression Omnibus database to predict poor prognosis based on the up-regulated expression of TNS4 in LUAD. The correlation between the clinical pathologic features of patients and TNS4 gene expression was analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Cox regression analysis was used to evaluate the association of clinicopathologic characteristics with the overall survival (OS) of cancer patients using TCGA data. ⋯ Integrin α6β4 and laminin-5 genes were also associated with TNS4. TNS4 expression may be a potential biomarker for predicting poor survival in LUAD. Moreover, the correlation between TNS4 and integrin α6β4 may be attributed to the role of TNS4 in LUAD.

Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is caused by unaccustomed exercise, especially eccentric exercise, and is highly likely to cause skeletal muscle injury. It mainly manifests as ultrastructural changes in skeletal muscle, as well as decreased muscle strength, muscle soreness, swelling, and elevated levels of creatine kinase (CK). Vibration training (VT) has been attracting increasing attention as a new type of rehabilitation therapy. It can effectively minimize the occurrence and relieve the symptoms of DOMS, reduce muscle stiffness and soreness, and reduce serum concentrations of CK and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). This article systematically assessed the impact of VT on the mitigation of DOMS through a meta-analysis to provide updated evidence-based information. ⋯ number: INPLASY2021120115.
