STAD ranked 5th most common in the incidence of malignant tumors and 3rd most common in the death rate of cancer worldwide. CXC chemokines affect the biological progress of various tumors, resulting in therapeutic failure. The role of CXCL2 in STAD was still a mystery. ⋯ We identified CXCL2 as a novel therapeutic target and associated with immune infiltration in STAD.

Botulinum toxin is produced by Clostridium botulinum, a gram-positive anaerobic bacterium. This study aimed to examine the epidemiological characteristics, including sex, age, season in which infection occurred, place of residence, and epidemiological trends, of confirmed botulism cases in Taiwan from 2003 to 2020. This study examined the annual summary data on reported botulism in Taiwan' s Center for Disease Control from 2003 to 2020 available to the public on the internet. ⋯ This study is the first to report the number of confirmed domestic cases with botulism from surveillance data from Taiwan's Center for Disease Control during 2003 to 2020. This study also found that the place of residence and age were associated with an increased risk of botulism in Taiwan. This information may be useful for policymakers and clinical experts to direct prevention- and control-based activities regarding botulism that result in the most severe illness and the greatest burden on Taiwanese.

To apply a network pharmacological approach to explore the targets and possible mechanisms of Kai Yu Zhong Yu Tang (KYZYT) in the treatment of tubal fimbria obstruction. The target information of KYZYT was extracted from TCMSP and HERB database. Genes related to tubal fimbria obstruction were searched using the GENECARD database. ⋯ The "drug-component" and "drug-target" networks of KYZYT were constructed, and the protein interaction network (PPI) of overlapping targets was analyzed to identify the key targets of the drug affecting the disease. In addition, KEGG pathway analysis and GO enrichment analysis were performed on the overlapping targets to explore the mechanism of KYZYT in the treatment of tubal fimbria obstruction. KYZYT has the characteristics of multi-component, multi-target and multi-pathway in the treatment of tubal fimbria obstruction, which provides new ideas and scientific basis for further clarification of the molecular mechanism.

The tendency for musculoskeletal complaints, injuries, and traumas remains significant among Para athletes. The aim of the study was to identify and verify the variables that impact the incidence and location of musculoskeletal pain in elite athletes with disabilities. It was assumed, that the type of disability and not the type of sport, or the type of injuries and traumas is the crucial determinant of the prevalence and location of musculoskeletal pain in Para athletes. ⋯ The age of the Para athletes correlated with the NMQ-7 (wrists) (R = 0.4; P < .01). Both duration of disability and the type and severity of the disability may be crucial determinants of the prevalence and location of pain in the musculoskeletal system in Para athletes. Sport-specific training seems to induce specific musculoskeletal complaints.

Compound heterozygous protein C deficiency with pulmonary embolism caused by a novel PROC gene mutation: Case report and literature review.
Protein C is an anticoagulation agent, and protein C deficiency results in vascular thrombosis disease. Hereditary protein C deficiency is a risk factor for pulmonary embolism in adults. Pathogenic variants of the Protein C, Inactivator Of Coagulation Factors Va And VIIIa (PROC) gene which encodes protein C have been identified as a cause of protein C deficiency. ⋯ A novel mutation in intron 3 of PROC gene has not been previously reported in patients with pulmonary embolism caused by protein C deficiency. After anticoagulation therapy, the patient recovered, and CT showed resolution of the thrombosis. Pulmonary embolism may be caused by protein C deficiency and the rare compound heterozygous mutation in intron 3 of the PROC gene could cause protein C deficiency via impairment of the secretory activity of protein C.
