This study aimed to develop a diabetes prediction model. The model performance was compared with logistic regression, and the decision tree Chi-square automatic interaction detection (CHAID) was used to predict diabetes. In total, 3233 patients were included in the analysis. ⋯ The suggested method is a valuable tool for predicting diabetes. Patients who visit the hospital because of blood pressure problems are more likely to develop diabetes than under-treating hyperlipidemia. The diabetes prediction model can help doctors make decisions by detecting the possibility of diabetes early; however, it is impossible to diagnose diabetes using only the model without the doctor's opinion.

Anthracyclines have been one of the most important therapeutic methods in breast cancer therapy for decades. However, serious long-term toxicities, especially cardiotoxicity limits the continuous usage of anthracyclines, hence affects long term prognosis. Early detection of myocardial dysfunction during treatment is critical but challenging. ⋯ However, the conventional echocardiographic parameters including IVSD, LVPWD, LVEDD, LVESD, LVEDV, and LVESV were not statistically significant (P > .05). Meanwhile, the two-dimensional strain parameters LVGLS, LVGLS-Endo, and LVGLS-Epi were statistically significant after T2 and T4 cycle chemotherapy (P < .01). The two-dimensional strain parameter GLS has higher accuracy and sensitivity for monitoring left ventricular insufficiency caused by anthracycline therapy when compared with traditional echocardiography.

Application of dexamethasone combined with tranexamic acid in perioperative period of total hip arthroplasty.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of dexamethasone (DEXA) combined with tranexamic acid (TXA) in the perioperative period of total hip arthroplasty. ⋯ The combination of TXA (15 mg/kg; before skin incision and 3 hours later) and DEX (20 mg dexamethasone intravenously after the onset of anesthesia, and again 24 hours later) is an effective and safe strategy for patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty.

Effectiveness of hospital-based low intensity and inspected aerobic training on functionality and cardiorespiratory fitness in unconditioned stroke patients: Importance of submaximal aerobic fitness markers.
The purpose of our study was to evaluate the effectiveness of low-to moderate intensity aerobic training on cardiorespiratory functions in chronic unconditioned stroke patients. The oxygen uptake efficiency slope (OUES) and the ventilatory threshold (VO2-VT) could represent the aerobic capacity in submaximal test. Our study examined the application of the submaximal parameters for evaluating aerobic capacity of chronic stroke patients. ⋯ Four-week exercise training even at low intensity by lower limb cycle ergometer may provide benefit on aerobic and functional capacity without improvement of VO2 peak on unconditioned chronic stroke patients.

The frequency of isolated Lisfranc ligament (ILL) injuries has been increasing recently with the increase in low-energy trauma resulting from sports injuries. For ILL injuries, the optimal method of fixation still remains controversial. The traditional fixation method is achieved by trans-articular screws, but recently, dorsal bridge plates and suture button (SB) fixation have become alternatives. Some biomechanical studies have showed that SB fixation can provide adequate strength compared to trans-articular screws. Therefore, a meta-analysis is imperative to provide evidence on whether flexible fixation is comparable to screw fixation for treatment of ILL injuries. ⋯ The conclusion of this study will provide evidence for judging whether flexible fixation is superior to screw fixation for treatment of ILL injuries.
