Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most common cancer in the world and the second most common cancer in China. In this study, we compared the clinicopathological features and prognosis of GC between young and old patients after curative resection. Six hundred and eighty-six patients with GC resected were divided two groups according to patient age: Younger GC patients ≤40 years of age (YGC, n = 52) and older GC patients >40 years of age (OGC, n = 634). ⋯ Similar results were found in the OGC groups. Our results showed that YGC patients differ from OGC patients in predominance of women. Gender, N staging, rN, radical degrees were independent risk factors for the prognosis in YGC patients.

We investigated serum total antibody titers against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike protein receptor-binding domain after BNT162b2 mRNA vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Japanese patients taking various immunosuppressive medications for rheumatic disease. In 212 outpatients with rheumatic diseases at Kagawa University Hospital and 43 healthy volunteers (controls), all of whom had received 2 doses of BNT162b2 vaccine, serum antibody titers of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein were analyzed at least 14 days after the second dose. Many of the patients were taking immunosuppressive agents to manage their rheumatic disease. ⋯ The degree of decline in antibody titers differed according to immunosuppressant. When used concomitantly with other immunosuppressants, methotrexate may impair the immune response to the BNT162b2 vaccine. However, immunomodulatory treatments such as interleukin-17 and -23 inhibitors may not attenuate this response in patients with rheumatic disease.

Distant metastasis explains the high mortality rate of colon cancer, in which lung metastasis without liver metastasis (LuM) is a rare subtype. This study is aimed to identify risk factors of LuM and LLM (lung metastasis with liver metastasis) from colon cancer, and to analyze the prognosis of patients with LuM by creating a nomogram. Patients' information were obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. ⋯ In addition, age, primary site, tumor size, differentiation grade, N stage, and bone metastasis were significantly different between LuM and LLM. The nomograms we created were effective in predicting the survival of individuals. Furthermore, patients with LuM and LLM from colon cancer might require different follow-up intervals and examinations.

The tendency for musculoskeletal complaints, injuries, and traumas remains significant among Para athletes. The aim of the study was to identify and verify the variables that impact the incidence and location of musculoskeletal pain in elite athletes with disabilities. It was assumed, that the type of disability and not the type of sport, or the type of injuries and traumas is the crucial determinant of the prevalence and location of musculoskeletal pain in Para athletes. ⋯ The age of the Para athletes correlated with the NMQ-7 (wrists) (R = 0.4; P < .01). Both duration of disability and the type and severity of the disability may be crucial determinants of the prevalence and location of pain in the musculoskeletal system in Para athletes. Sport-specific training seems to induce specific musculoskeletal complaints.

To investigate the influence of interpersonal emotion regulation and conscientiousness on team emotional intelligence. A total of 1369 college students were investigated with the conscientiousness subscale of Big Five Personality Questionnaire, Team Emotional Intelligence Scale and Leadership Positive Emotional Operation Questionnaire. Variance analysis, Pearson product difference correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and path analysis were used. ⋯ Conscientiousness significantly predicted team emotional intelligence, and leadership's positive emotional operation. Furthermore, conscientiousness could predict team emotional intelligence through mediating individual emotional intelligence. Interpersonal positive emotion regulation played a part of mediating role between conscientiousness and team emotional intelligence.
