Despite the expansion of home care services (HCS) in several countries, there is still a need to systematically investigate the available evidence on the cost-effectiveness of this type of service compared to hospital care in the world, particularly for the pediatric population. Hence, we aimed to systematically synthesize and critically evaluate the evidence on the cost-effectiveness of HCS versus in-hospital services worldwide. ⋯ To the best of our knowledge this will be the first systematic review and metanalysis to synthesize and critically evaluate the evidence on the cost-effectiveness of HCS versus in-hospital services worldwide. The review will adopt a rigorous approach, adhering to PRISMA Statement 2020, using a comprehensive and systematic search strategy in 10 databases, further the gray literature, pre-prints, with no time period or language restrictions.

Intradialytic hypotension (IDH) is a common complication in hemodialysis. IDH can induce vomiting, chest tightness and syncope, and hemodialysis shall be discontinued in patients with severe IDH. As is revealed in related studies, Shenmai injection (SMI) can be used in the prophylaxis and treatment of IDH. However, there is still a lack of consensus about the efficacy among reported studies, which cannot provide compelling evidence. Therefore, a meta-analysis was conducted in this study to further investigate the efficacy and safety of SMI in the prophylaxis and treatment of IDH. ⋯ The latest evidence for the efficacy and safety of SMI in the prevention and treatment of IDH can be provided through this study.

With the development of molecular biology technology, the discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) has provided new ideas for the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of lung cancer and laid a foundation for the study of this malignancy. To assess the potential prognostic value of miR-92a as a new biomarker in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) via clinical evaluation, a total of 100 patients with NSCLC admitted to the Respiratory and Intensive Care Department of Suining Central Hospital in Sichuan Province between August 2007 and April 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The correlation between miR-92a expression and prognosis of patients with NSCLC was also evaluated in the present study. ⋯ Cox regression analysis explained that miR-92a expression was associated with the prognosis of patients with NSCLC (HR = 1.8, 95% CI: 1.0-3.2, P = .036). In summary, miR-92a was highly expressed in NSCLC tissues and could act as a prognostic factor for patients with NSCLC. These results illustrate that miR-92a expression plays an important role in the invasion and metastasis of NSCLC, and miR-92a can be used as a new biomarker to determine the prognosis of this cancer.

Environmental pollution and male infertility have become global public health problems. The presence of microplastics (MPs) has been detected in the human body, and it has also been demonstrated that MPs can cause damage to the reproductive system. Wuwei Fuzheng Yijing Decoction (WWFZYJ) is effective in treating male infertility. Therefore, we designed a clinical randomized controlled trial to observe the effect of WWFZYJ on the content of MPs and semen quality in male infertility patients, and to evaluate its security. ⋯ This study will provide evidence for the efficacy and safety of WWFZYJ in treating male infertility and reducing the content of MPs in semen, and further explore the effects of MPs on male fertility.

In treating colorectal cancer, surgical techniques and adjuvant treatments have advanced over the past century, but relatively less attention has been given to improve health-related quality of life (HRQOL). Recent studies report a significant association between cancer recurrence and patient lifestyle after surgery, hence emphasizing the need to assist patients to reduce this risk through appropriate lifestyle choices. The proposed study will evaluate the effects of digital interventions on lifestyle after surgery for colorectal cancer using mobile applications. ⋯ Results from this study could provide evidence that easily accessible mobile applications can influence patient lifestyles. Results showing minimal effects of such applications could also be constructive for improving healthcare-related applications.
