In South Korea, there are few studies to understand the current status of pulmonary rehabilitation in clinical practice and develop it. This study aimed to assess the current status and annual changes in the number and pattern of prescriptions for pulmonary rehabilitation before and after its insurance coverage. The trends of pulmonary rehabilitation before and after its insurance coverage commencement were evaluated using the data of 24,380 patients during the 3-year period from 2016 to 2018 that were archived by the National Health Information Database of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service in South Korea. ⋯ In 2016, pulmonary rehabilitation was prescribed more frequently for cerebral infarction; after 2017, it was prescribed more frequently for lung cancer. This study summarized the current status and trends of pulmonary rehabilitation in South Korea before and after National Health Insurance Service coverage, which commenced on January 1, 2017. A significant increase in the number of pulmonary rehabilitations was confirmed after the insurance coverage.

Endoscopists frequently have difficulty approaching biliary lesions using biopsy forceps. The aim of this study was not only to describe an easy technique for biliary biopsy assisted by a looped guidewire but also to present preliminary results regarding its safety and feasibility. A preliminary proof-of-concept study was performed at a single tertiary medical center. ⋯ The sensitivity of the single procedure was 84.6% (11/13). There were 2 patients with mild hyperamylasemia, but there were no severe complications with respect to safety. This new technique could enhance the success rate and diagnostic yield and reduce the risk of failure when using the biopsy forceps approach during ERCP.

This study aimed to identify copper-induced death genes in primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) and explore immune infiltration, risk and drug prediction models for salivary glands (SGs) damage. The 3 datasets, including GSE40611, GSE23117, and GSE7451 from the Gene Expression Omnibus database were downloaded. The datasets were processed using the affy in R (version 4.0.3). ⋯ The nomogram suggested that the low expression of PDHA1 was significant for predicting the risk of pSS and the area under curve was 0.678. Drug model suggested that "Bathocuproine disulfonate CTD 00001350," "Vitinoin CTD 00007069," and "Resveratrol CTD 00002483" were the drugs most strongly associated with copper-induced death genes. In summary, copper-induced death genes are associated with SGs injury in pSS, which is worthy of clinicians' attention.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a malignant tumor originated from gastric mucosa epithelium. It is the third leading cause of cancer mortality in China. The early symptoms are not obvious. When it is discovered, it has developed to the advanced stage, and the prognosis is poor. In order to screen for potential genes for GC development, this study obtained GSE118916 and GSE109476 from the gene expression omnibus (GEO) database for bioinformatics analysis. ⋯ In summary, the DEGs and hub genes found in this study may be potential diagnostic and therapeutic targets.

Male infertility is a multifactorial condition that is closely associated with chromosomal abnormalities. Reciprocal chromosomal translocation (RCT) is a significant structural genetic abnormality. The specific mechanisms of forms of RCT affecting male infertility include the product of chromosomally unbalanced gametes, thereby disrupting the structure and function of important genes responsible for spermatogenesis. ⋯ Using a literature search, the association between chromosome 22q13 breakpoint and fertility were investigated. The results suggest that physicians should focus on the clinical phenotype of the patients and the breakpoints of RCT in genetic counseling. An important gene related to human male infertility is clearly located in chromosome region 22q13, and its function is worthy of further study.
