Performing a training program for reducing nurses' discrimination towards AIDS clients, and then evaluating the effect of the training model and analyzing the influencing factors of the training effect to form a long-run training model. 150 clinical nurses were selected to attend the program to reduce nurses' discrimination towards AIDS clients. The program included 3 steps: knowledge education, psychological intervention, and behavior correcting. Before the program, we conducted pre-research to learn the current situation, including existing discrimination and training needs. ⋯ There was a significant difference detected among nurses in their experience caring for AIDS clients (F = 3.80, P < .05). The nurses with higher education levels also showed a significant difference compared to those with low education levels on their knowledge and behavior scores ([F = 3.49, P < .05] and [F = 4.68, P < .05], respectively). AIDS-related knowledge training and psychological intervention can effectively reduce the discriminatory attitudes of nurses towards AIDS clients.

Chuanxiong Tongluo capsules have been widely used to treat recovered stroke and cerebral infarction, but their specific therapeutic mechanism is not well understood. ⋯ The active ingredients in Chuanzhi Tongluo capsule may participate in the therapeutic process of cerebral infarction by regulating the calcium, cAMP, cGMP-PKG, and TNF signaling pathway through critical targets such as INS, ALB, IL-6, VEGFA, TNF, and TP53.

This study analyzed the clinical significance and characteristics of asymmetric venous blood flow in patients with Moyamoya disease (MMD) using minimum intensity projection (minIP) susceptibility-weighted imaging. The minIP views of 30 patients diagnosed with MMD were retrospectively analyzed using clinical features, brain magnetic resonance angiography, electroencephalography, and brain single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Simultaneously, differences between patients with acute cerebral infarction and non-MMD causes were analyzed. ⋯ Patients with MMD showed asymmetric hypointensity of the cortical veins with a minIP appearance. The venous structure showed greater signal loss on SWI and was more prominent in the hemisphere where stenosis was advanced or infarction occurred in other examinations. Cerebral infarction in patients with MMD tended to occur with asymmetrically prominent venous patterns with damaged areas in minIP images, which had distinct characteristics from those of patients without MMD.

The mesolibic tract (MLT) is a dopaminergic tract that has been shown to play a role in regulating reward stimuli, including both incentive salience and social stimuli. In the current study, we examined the aging of MLT in normal human participants to explain human brain structures using diffusion tensor tractography (DTT). Fifty-seven healthy participants were recruited for this study and allocated to six groups based on their age. ⋯ The mean ADC value of the MLT was significantly higher in the 60s and 70s groups than in the 20s, 30s, and 40s, 50s groups (P < .05). We found that aging of the MLT began in the 20s or 30s and progressed steadily throughout life until the 60s, when it exhibited significant degeneration. We believe this affect may play a role in the decline of memory and social interaction with aging in normal participants.

Secretion of insulin is compromised in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) individuals and inadequate to accommodate for insulin resistance (IR) in peripheral tissue. Hyperleptinemia reflects leptin resistance, which is a key factor in the production of IR in T2DM patients, making leptin a potential biomarker for evaluating IR levels. The objective of the study was to assess the association of serum leptin and insulin levels among T2DM patients. ⋯ There was a positive linear correlation between BMI, blood sugar, HbA1c, serum cholesterol (TC), and triglycerides (TG) with serum insulin and leptin levels in the case group. An extremely significant correlation (R = 0.74, P < .001) was found in BMI and serum leptin level in the case group. Serum leptin and insulin levels have a positive association, with serum leptin being a significant predictor of IR syndrome (Evidence Level: 5; Technical Efficacy: Stage 3).
