The number of patients complaining of shoulder pain is gradually increasing, and women with shoulder pain in particular tend to present with psychological disorders and poor sleep quality. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate whether psychological disorder and poor sleep quality mediated the relationship between shoulder pain and shoulder disability in women. This is a descriptive survey study of 222 women from 3 community centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do regions in South Korea. ⋯ Serial mediation model showed that sleep quality and psychological disorders (depression, anxiety, and stress) were sequential mediators between shoulder pain and shoulder disability among women. The relationship between shoulder pain and shoulder disability among women was partially mediated by sleep quality and psychological disorders (depression, anxiety, and stress). The results emphasize the importance of sleep quality and psychological factors in shoulder disability and suggest the use of strategies to improve sleep quality and alleviate psychological factors when developing an intervention program to mitigate shoulder disability in women with shoulder pain.

The effectiveness of daily humanistic care in pharmaceutical care of patients with type 2 diabetes.
Although the current methods of pharmaceutical care have demonstrably improved pathogenic condition and humanistic health outcomes of patients with type 2 diabetes, lacking humanistic care limits its reach and effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of daily humanistic care reminders in pharmaceutical care of patients with type 2 diabetes. A total of 1200 patients with type 2 diabetes were recruited. ⋯ Humanistic care showed a positive correlation with glycemic control and negative relationship with HbA1c in patients with type 2 diabetes. There was a positive correlation between humanistic care and glycemic control (R = 0.641, P < .01) and a negative relationship between humanistic care and HbA1c in patients with type 2 diabetes (r = -0.482, P < .01). In conclusion, humanistic care could improve the control of overall clinical outcomes and enhanced medication adherences, which play an important role in the management of patients with type 2 diabetes.

Underwater endoscopic mucosal resection (UW-EMR) has been recently introduced as an effective technique for rectal third layer subepithelial tumors. Therefore, we aimed to assess the safety, efficacy, and procedure time of UW-EMR for upper gastrointestinal subepithelial tumors (SETs) originating from the deep mucosal and/or submucosal layers. ⋯ UW-EMR is a safe and effective treatment for upper gastrointestinal SETs embedded in the submucosal layer. Further studies are needed to compare other endoscopic resection techniques.

Acceptable deviation of labial tubercle and anterior tooth midlines relative to facial midline in smile aesthetics: A retrospective observational study.
Smile aesthetics are mainly influenced by the relative position of facial midline (FC-line), anterior tooth midline (AT-line) and labial tubercle midline (LT-line). However, the acceptable deviation of LT-line and AT-line relative to FC-line is unknown. This study aims to fill the critical gap. ⋯ However, the scores of right deviation in dentists and orthodontic patients were significantly lower than those in left deviation (P < .05). The acceptable deviation of LT-line and AT-line relative to FC-line should be kept within 2 mm. Besides, raters' occupation and gender, and deviation direction of model may influence the smile aesthetics.
