Physiologic processes such as childbirth and menopause can alter vulvovaginal aesthetic appearance, reduce sexual satisfaction, and cause symptoms of vulvovaginal atrophy which affects a woman's quality of life. There is debate about whether dynamic quadripolar radiofrequency (DQRF) can be used to improve such conditions. We conducted a meta-analysis of studies among patients undergoing treatment with DQRF. ⋯ Dynamic quaripolar radiofrequency is a potentially promising intervention to improve vaginal laxity, appearance and sexual satisfaction, as observed in four monocentric case series. Further studies with a control group, well-defined methods of patient selection and longer follow-up periods are necessary to reach a definitive conclusion.

Efficacy of Phellinus linteus extract on immunity enhancement: A CONSORT-randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot trial.
Immunity is a major system that defends the human body from the outside. Recently, interest in foods related to immunity has been increasing. ⋯ PL extract can help improve immunity. Evidences to conduct the main clinical trial is secured through this pilot study. A future large-scale main trial will be conducted based on this pilot study results.

Appropriate tube temperature for fiberoptic bronchoscope-guided intubation of thermally softened double-lumen endotracheal tubes: A CONSORT-compliant article.
To compare the effects of thermal softening of double-lumen endotracheal tubes (DLT) at different temperatures during fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB)-guided intubation. ⋯ A thermally softened DLT shortened the time to intubation, reduced the IR, improved the success rate of the first attempt at endotracheal intubation, and lowered the incidence of postoperative glottic injury and hoarseness. The optimal tube temperature for FOB-guided intubation of thermally softened DLT was 40 ± 1°C.

Atezolizumab plus bevacizumab treatment for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma progressing after molecular targeted therapy: A multicenter prospective observational study.
To evaluate the efficacy of atezolizumab plus bevacizumab treatment in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) previously treated with molecular targeted agents (MTAs). Thirty-one patients treated with atezolizumab plus bevacizumab for unresectable HCC and previously treated with MTAs were enrolled in this study. The treatment lines ranged from second to sixth lines. ⋯ This was likely because of differences in the mechanism of action of the MTA administered immediately beforehand. The side-effect profile differed from that observed in the IMbrave150 phase 3 study of atezolizumab plus bevacizumab, which showed more adverse events related to hepatic reserve. Patients treated with the combination of atezolizumab and bevacizumab after lenvatinib therapy may experience rapid tumor growth and subsequent shrinkage.

Despite that gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist pretreatment has been widely used before programmed frozen-thawed transfer (FET), its impact on live birth rates in ovulatory women remains uncertain. In the present study, we aim to determine if GnRH agonists pretreatment before FET improves live birth rates in women undergoing in vitro fertilization with FET. Programmed FET cycles conducted in four infertility centers were retrospectively collected and reviewed for eligibility from January 2016 and December 2017. ⋯ Sensitivity analysis performed in patients with male factor infertility causes showed GnRH agonist pretreated group had lower live birth rates compared to no GnRH agonist pretreatment group (OR = 0.65, 95% CI [0.43-0.97]). Our findings suggested that GnRH agonist pretreatment does not bring additional benefits in live birth rate improvements for ovulatory women undergoing FET cycles. Therefore, the pros of using GnRH agonist to reduce premature ovulation should be weighed against the cons of prolonged time to pregnancy, discomforts resulting from pituitary suppression, and increased medical costs associated with GnRH agonist use.
