Chronic pancreatitis (CP) is a risk factor for developing pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). In addition, a patient with partial pancreatectomy for intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) can also lead to PDAC. In contrast, IPMN is a distinct disease entity, independent of CP, and there have been few reports that CP is the cause of IPMN. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first clinical case report of the metachronous occurrence of main-duct IPMN and PDAC with a 9 and half-year interval in a patient with chronic alcoholic pancreatitis. ⋯ Early diagnosis of metachronous pancreatic neoplasia in a patient with chronic pancreatitis could be made by correlating newly developed clinical symptoms and signs with careful radiological examinations.

Bone metastasis (BM) has become an important health problem. In recent years, studies on BM are growing rapidly, but there were no bibliometric studies regarding BM. This study aimed to illustrate the overall knowledge structure and development trends of BM. ⋯ In this study, we conduct a systematic and comprehensive analysis on the research in BM field. The publication number was rising in recent years stably. USA contributed mostly not only in quality, but also in quantity. Amgen Inc. published the largest number of articles, Supportive Care in Cancer was the most productive journal related to BM. "Safety", "skeletal related event", "open label", "management", "health", and "prognosis" are the research hotspots in recent years. We believe this study can not only show the global research overview in past 40 years but also point the research trend of BM in the future.

To explore the effects of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) on osteoarthritis (OA), 12 bone tissue samples were obtained surgically from the human total knee arthroplasty patients and analyzed by quantitative proteomics. ⋯ OA and DMOA onset and progression were closely related to synthesis and metabolism of extracellular matrix components (e.g., fibronectin, decorin, etc.). The effects of T2DM on OA occur though 2 major ways of oxidative stress and low-grade chronic inflammation, involving in 2 inhibited signaling pathways and 4 activated signaling pathways.

Bohring-Opitz syndrome caused by a novel ASXL1 mutation (c.3762delT) in an IVF baby: A case report.
Bohring-Opitz syndrome is a severe congenital disorder associated with a de novo mutation in the additional sex combs-like 1 (ASXL1) gene, and it is characterized by symptoms that include developmental delay and musculoskeletal and neurological features. ⋯ ASXL1 c.3762delT is a novel mutation that may be caused by IVF. This finding suggests that appropriate gene mutation detection approaches may be necessary for IVF technology.
