It is suspected that the information the population has about coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) determines both its preventive measures and its effects on mental health. The internet and social media are the sources that have largely replaced the official and traditional channels of information. The objective of this study is to analyse the influence of the sources used by the population in Peru to obtain information on COVID-19 and its association with developing psychological distress (PD) and preventive measures against contagion.1699 questionnaires were analysed. ⋯ The biggest concern is transmitting the virus to family members, close persons, or patients, with more confidence in health professionals than in the health system. The health authorities should use the social media to transmit quality information about COVID-19 and, at the same time, to gather in real time the opinions on the implemented preventive measures. For all, this it is necessary to have higher credibility in the population to increase the confidence in the health system, looking at basic aspects for compliance with prevention measures and improvement of mental health.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most frequent cancer in men worldwide, and its mortality rate is increasing every year. The cell division cycle-associated (CDCA) gene family plays vital roles in the cell cycle process, but an analysis of these proteins in PCa is still lacking. ⋯ Upregulated CDCA (NUF2, CBX2, and CDCA2/3/5/8) expression in PCa tissues may play a crucial role in the occurrence of PCa. These CDCAs can predict relapse-free survival prognosis and the Gleason score of patients with PCa. Moreover, CDCAs probably exert their functions in tumorigenesis through the cell cycle and miRNAs in the cancer pathway.

Objective to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of sacubitril valsartan in the treatment of heart failure (HF) with midrange ejection fraction after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in diabetic patients. From January 2015 to July 2020, HF patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with AMI were retrospectively analyzed. According to the medication, they were divided into 2 groups, that is, sacubitril valsartan group (84 cases) and valsartan group (86 cases). ⋯ The left ventricular ejection fraction in the sacubitril valsartan group was higher than that in the valsartan group [(54.76 ± 4.24)% vs (49.28 ± 3.74)%, P < .001]. χ2 inspection showed that the readmission rate in the sacubitril valsartan group was lower than that in the valsartan group (7.14% vs 18.60%, P < .05). Sacubitril valsartan has good safety and tolerability in patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with AMI who have HF with midrange ejection fraction. Compared with valsartan, sacubitril valsartan can improve the left ventricular function better and reduce the readmission rate due to HF in these patients.

Sarcoidosis is a multisystem granulomatous disease which is observed worldwide. Sarcoidosis is one of the common causes of ocular inflammation. The choroidal vascularity index, defined as the ratio of the luminal area to the total choroidal area, is used as one of the biomarkers for assessing the choroid vascular state. ⋯ Both the sarcoidosis and control groups had similar measured values for central corneal thickness, corneal volume, anterior chamber depth, anterior chamber volume, and iridocorneal angle (P > .05). Mean retinal nerve fiber layer, retinal arteriole and venule caliber, and choroidal thickness measurements did not differ significantly between the groups (P > .05). Sarcoidosis patients in quiescent period have similar choroidal vascularity index and thickness with healthy controls.

Bohring-Opitz syndrome caused by a novel ASXL1 mutation (c.3762delT) in an IVF baby: A case report.
Bohring-Opitz syndrome is a severe congenital disorder associated with a de novo mutation in the additional sex combs-like 1 (ASXL1) gene, and it is characterized by symptoms that include developmental delay and musculoskeletal and neurological features. ⋯ ASXL1 c.3762delT is a novel mutation that may be caused by IVF. This finding suggests that appropriate gene mutation detection approaches may be necessary for IVF technology.
