Ischemic stroke (IS) is the one of the most severe neurological disease, survivors may live with upper limb motor dysfunction (ULMD) resulting in heavy social and economic burden. Nowadays, there are few approaches to promote the rehabilitation of ULMD. Auricular acupuncture (electroacupuncture [EA]) has long been used in the treatment of neurological disorders in China. This treatment has become an attractive treatment option due to its low cost, portability, minimal side effects, and ease of use in clinical and operational environments. However, its efficacy and safety in consciousness recovery remain to be proved. ⋯ This study tried to narrow the evidence gap on the efficacy of EA at the auricular on the recovery of ULMD in patients with IS. The results of this trial will provide strong evidence for the efficacy and safety of EA of auricular concha region stimulation for IS patients.Trial registration: This trial has been registered at the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry, numbered ChiCTR2100049678.

With the advantages of miniature damage and optimal effectiveness, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been performed in a large number of coronary artery disease patients. However, recent studies have indicated a higher incidence of depression on post-PCI patients. Acupuncture therapy is effective for depression. As a form of acupuncture, the auricular acupuncture has been used to relieve symptoms in patients with post-PCI depression, but its effectiveness and safety have not yet reached a definitive conclusion. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis protocol is planned to evaluate the efficacy and safety of auricular acupuncture for depression in post-PCI patients. ⋯ INPLASY202230003.

Microvascular invasion is an independent risk factor for the recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Early detection and timely treatment can reduce the recurrence and prolong the overall survival of HCC. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) has been validated for their predictive potential of microvascular invasion in HCC patients, although the conclusion remains controversial. Therefore, a meta-analysis is necessary to be conducted to validate the diagnostic value of CEUS for microvascular invasion in HCC, thus supporting guideline development and clinical practice. ⋯ This study will comprehensively evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of CEUS for microvascular invasion in HCC patients, thus providing high-quality evidence to support clinical practice and guideline development.

Torsion of the omentum and infarction are rare and unusual disorders that often present as acute abdominal pain in the population. The diagnosis of omental torsion is based on clinical and imaging examinations. ⋯ Omental torsion should be included in the differential diagnosis of acute abdominal pain, particularly in patients with free hemorrhagic fluid in the abdominal cavity and pelvis.

Severe heart failure in chronic hemodialysis (HD) patients is a great treatment challenge. Here we reported a chronic HD patient with the lowest ejection fraction reported so far and hypotension who well tolerated and benefited from angiotensin-receptor neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) treatment. ⋯ Low does ARNI treatment could effectively improve cardiac function in HD patients with heart failure and hypotension. It was also safe and well tolerated.
