Concerns have been raised about allergic reactions to messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines. A history of allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis to drugs, has been frequently reported in individuals with anaphylaxis to mRNA vaccines. To estimate the rate of immediate allergic reactions in patients with a history of drug allergy or other allergic disorders. ⋯ Six immediate allergic reactions were noted in the cohort of 1679 patients (0.36%). One patient experienced anaphylaxis (0.06%), which resolved after epinephrine administration, and the other reactions were mild and easily treatable. Most patients with a history of allergies can safely receive an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, providing adequate observation periods and preparedness to recognize and treat anaphylaxis.

Trastuzumab-induced cardiotoxicity in early breast cancer over a 10-year period in Uruguay.
This srudy aimed to estimate the prevalence of trastuzumab-induced cardiotoxicity in Uruguayan women diagnosed with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer over a 10-year period, who were treated under the financial coverage of the National Resources Fund (Fondo Nacional de Recursos). This was an observational, descriptive study based on the analysis of an anonymized database of Uruguayan women diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer who received adjuvant trastuzumab treatment from to 2006 to 2016, provided by the Fondo Nacional de Recursos. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS Statistics version 25, and variables were assessed using measures of central tendency, dispersion, contingency tables, and proportions. ⋯ No association was observed between prior cardiovascular events or trastuzumab administration (concurrent vs sequential) and the development of cardiotoxicity. In the present study, the prevalence of cardiotoxicity was similar to that reported nationally and internationally. Most patients did not develop cardiotoxicity, while the ones who developed it remained asymptomatic and cardiotoxicity was reversible.

Nursing students' experience using an escape room for training clinical skills and competencies on emergency care: A qualitative observational study.
Game-based learning is increasing in nursing education. Also, the assessment of the utility of the escape room game is growing. To explore nursing students' opinion about the escape room as an evaluation game, a qualitative observational study with nursing students was carried out. ⋯ Game-based learning is increasing in nursing education, as well as the assessment of the utility of the escape room game. Using an escape room for assessing nursing students' knowledge is a positive experience. This learning experience can be also used with nurses in different specialties to promote teamwork and working under pressure.

Cancer is a well-recognized cause of fever, which is related to cytokines produced by malignant cells. Prostate cancer presenting with fever and other inflammatory markers as a paraneoplastic syndrome rarely occurs. ⋯ Differentiating cancer-related fever from infection-related fever is important for appropriate patient management. In this case, fever appeared as the first symptom of castration-resistant prostate cancer and was managed by naproxen and resolved with systemic chemotherapy.
