Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a common cause of chronic musculoskeletal pain and disability as well as a socioeconomic burden on healthcare services globally. Numerous clinical trials indicated that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may effectively improve the clinical symptoms of KOA patients. However, the comparative efficacy and safety of different TCM therapies in patients with KOA is not yet clear. In order to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TCM for KOA, we will conduct a systematic review and network meta-analysis on the existing randomized controlled trials (RCTs). ⋯ INPLASY202230008.

We aimed to compare the reliability of laboratory blood tests using 2 sampling methods, via a peripheral venous catheter (PVC) vs direct venipuncture stab (DVS), we evaluated the effect of time elapsed since PVC insertion, PVC diameter, and administration of saline and/or antibiotic infusion through PVC on the blood test results. A prospective comparative study was conducted between May 2018 and July 2019. Patients aged ≥ 18 years and admitted to our department with a 20G/22G PVC inserted within the last 24 hours were enrolled. ⋯ No significant differences were found in failure rates when each subgroup was compared with the primary day 1 group. The intraclass correlation coefficient indicated significant correlations among all the indices in all groups. Both blood sampling methods (PVC and direct venipuncture) can be used interchangeably for routine laboratory tests on days 1 and 2 after PVC insertion using 20G/22G PVC or infused PVC.

Endometrial cancer is a tumor that affects many women. Essentially, patients who have high-risk endometrial cancer tend to have a disproportionately high rate of metastasis as well as relapse than the general population. Regardless of complete resection, individuals who are having stages III or IV cancer appear to be at substantial risk of recurrence, either locally or distantly. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy are examples of systemic adjuvant treatment. However, the ideal scheduling strategy remains a mystery. Undertaking this research can help in examining the efficacy as well as safety of adjuvant chemotherapy alone in patients with advanced endometrial cancer in the future. ⋯ The outcomes of the proposed investigation will summarize the current evidence of adjuvant chemotherapy alone for patients with advanced endometrial carcinoma.

Psoriatic arthritis (PSA) is a form of immune-mediated inflammatory arthritis that predominantly begins with enthesitis. Studying the gut microbiota of PSA patients may offer new insights into the pathogenesis of enthesitis, compared to other arthritis. We designed a prospective study to examine gut microbiome of patients with PSA, primarily with enthesitis and dactylitis, and compared the data with other undifferentiated types of arthritis (NO PSA) patients, without enthesitis or dactylitis. ⋯ None of the available objective clinical laboratory data could differentiate PSA group from the NO PSA subgroup. The microbiota result shows that Family: XIII_AD3011 is significantly higher in NO PSA patients' than in PSA patients' stool samples (P = .039). Megasphaera elsdenii in the PSA group was 10,000 times higher than in the NO PSA group. Our results demonstrated high intragroup homogeneous and high intergroup heterogeneous microbiota. The clinical symptoms of either enthesitis or dactylitis are associated with higher presence of specific microbiota in the current study. The PSA and other undifferentiated arthritis could be differentiated with microbiota analysis. In the future, a larger cohort and thorough biochemical study are needed for confirmation. The microbiota is different between PSA and NO PSA patients, and the species could be used as a differential diagnostic tool between these 2 diseases. The clinically available serum markers may not be enough to reflect the details of patients with different patterns of arthritis. Megasphaera elsdenii species could be a link between gut flora and enthesitis and/or dactylitis clinically in PSA. We confirm the fact that the Bifidobacterium longum correlates negatively with eosinophils.

Patients who suffer from aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage continue to die at a high rate, despite large geographical and risk factor-related variability in death rates. Hemorrhagic stroke has a greater death rate than ischemic stroke, which is often permanent, although patients who survive have less impairment than those who do not. Because of this, nurses must offer appropriate nursing care throughout the perioperative period for patients suffering from this prevalent neurological condition. Patients with intracranial aneurysms (IA) will be the subjects of this research, which will be carried out to thoroughly investigate the effect of tailored rehabilitative nurse treatment throughout the perioperative period. ⋯ Results of this research will synthesize the current data to determine whether or not tailored rehabilitation nursing treatment may enhance the surgical recovery of patients with IA.
