Since December 2019, the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, caused >240 million cases and >5 million deaths. Given the current wider dissemination of pediatric cases, it is important to address questions regarding the clinical picture in children or if there are clinical patterns that may help us identify in an early stage what can be the prognosis and help clinicians with patient management. The study aimed to investigate in a French monocentric cohort and other European cohorts the presence of symptom clusterization and its possible connection to illness categories to help medical first-line screening and orientation in the pediatric emergency department (ED). ⋯ This study promotes the importance to identify early prognostic patterns to help clinicians in the decision process, especially in COVID-19 pediatric patients.

Wenjing decoction (WJD) was widely used in the treatment for ovulatory disorder infertility (ODI) in China, while its efficacy was not clearly known. In this study, we evaluated the clinical efficacy of WJD by meta-analysis. ⋯ WJD may be effective in the treatment of patients with ODI. Due to the quality and quantity of literature, RCT with large sample size and high quality need to be performed to verify our conclusion.

Prognostic value of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio for patients with triple-negative breast cancer: A meta-analysis.
We aimed to evaluate the prognostic role of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). We searched the PubMed Database, Cochrane Library, Web of science, and Embase. Overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), and hazard ratio (HR) were the endpoints of the study. ⋯ Ten studies involving 2054 patients with TNBC explored the role of NLR in predicting DFS; elevated NLR was associated with a significantly worse prognosis with a pooled HR of 2.20 (95% CI: 1.88-2.58, P < 001). This meta-analysis suggests that patients with TNBC who have a higher NLR have poorer prognoses. As a clinical parameter that we can easily obtain, NLR might be a potential predictor of patients' survival, and may be useful for physicians' treatment decisions.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of teriparatide on device-related vertebral osteopenia after single lumbar spinal interbody fusion and compare osteopenia in fused and nonfused spinal segments using Hounsfield unit (HU) values. The present study was a retrospective cohort study. We reviewed 68 consecutive patients (28 men and 40 women) who underwent single-segment (L4-5) transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion with cage and pedicle screw fixation. ⋯ Osseous fusion scores in the teriparatide group were significantly better than those in the nonmedication group. There were no significant differences in postoperative Japanese Orthopedic Association scores between the 2 groups. Administration of teriparatide during the perioperative period may prevent bone loss associated with spinal fusion surgery.

Although the incidence of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) has increased over the decades, the overall prognosis has improved with newer stents, tailored medication, and better intervention techniques. Atrial fibrillation (AF) and ventricular arrhythmia at the time of ACS diagnosis are known indicators of a poor acute prognosis. However, there is a lack of data regarding the long-term arrhythmic impact of ventricular tachyarrhythmia (VA) on mortality in ACS patients. ⋯ Overall mortality was related to the presence of anemia, low body mass index, low left ventricular ejection fraction after PCI, late-diagnosed AF, and any VA during follow-up. Readmission was higher in patients with chronic kidney disease and newly diagnosed AF during the follow-up. Diagnosis of late tachyarrhythmia during follow-up was associated with increased mortality in post-ACS patients.
