Review Case Reports
A sewing needle in the liver in children: A case report and literature review.
In clinical practice, foreign bodies (FBs) in the digestive tract are more common in children, but intrahepatic FBs are rare, especially those that can cause infection, bleeding, bile leakage, and other complications. However, there is no consensus on its diagnosis and treatment due to the lack of large-scale cohort studies. ⋯ Active surveillance might be considered for cases with no symptoms or complications and no displacement of the FB, but surgery should be the first choice. If the patient's condition is complicated, it is recommended to use ultrasound or X-ray to help decision-making during the operation. Additionally, tetanus, child safety, and family education are important supportive measures.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Nomogram to predict risk and prognosis of synchronous lung metastasis in renal cell carcinoma: A large cohort analysis.
We aimed to construct and validate nomogram models that predict the incidence of lung metastasis (LM) in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and evaluate overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) among RCC patients with LM. The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database was analyzed for RCC patients diagnosed between 2010 and 2015. The X-tile program was used to determine the best cutoff values for age at initial diagnosis and tumor size. ⋯ Then, nomograms were developed based on the multivariate logistic and Cox regression analyses results. The ROC and DCA curves confirmed that these nomograms achieved satisfactory discriminative power. Three effective nomograms were constructed and validated that can be used to assist clinicians in predicting the incidence of LM and evaluating the prognosis of lung metastatic RCC.

Advanced gallbladder cancer accompanied with cancer-associated dermatomyositis: A case report and literature review.
Muscle weakness due to cancer-associated dermatomyositis (CADM) can be misdiagnosed as cancer cachexia and disuse atrophy. ⋯ CADM is reported to be associated with a high incidence of dysphagia, which may aid in the diagnosis of this disease.

Observational Study
Comparison of nighttime and daytime operation on outcomes of supracondylar humeral fractures: A prospective observational study.
Supracondylar humeral fractures are seen in children and treatment is usually closed reduction and percutaneous pinning (CRPP). This surgery can be performed at night, depending on its urgency. Fatigue and sleep deprivation can impact performance of doctors during night shifts. ⋯ Children who had supracondylar humeral fractures, undergoing urgent CRPP surgery, in-hospital mortality was associated with the time of day at which the procedure was performed. Patient safety is critically important for pediatric traumatic patient population. Therefore, we suggested to increase the number of healthcare workers and improve the education and experience of young doctors during night shifts.

Imaging biomarkers for rib mass are needed to optimize treatment plan. We investigated the diagnostic value of metabolic and volumetric parameters from 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron-emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in discriminating between benign and malignant lesions of the ribs. ⋯ The MTV is a useful PET/CT parameter for assisting in the differential diagnosis of suspected malignant lesions of the ribs. CT finding of adjacent soft tissue involvement around rib was significantly associated with malignant lesions of the ribs.
