P2Y12 inhibitor pretreatment in patients with nonST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome: A meta-analysis.
The 2020 European Society of Cardiology guidelines do not recommend pretreatment for nonST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) patients with unclear coronary anatomy, which is inconsistent with our routine preoperative approach to loading P2Y12 receptor inhibitors (e.g., preoperative loading of 300 mg of clopidogrel). ⋯ In summary, clopidogrel pretreatment was associated with significantly lower mortality, major adverse cardiovascular events, myocardial infarction and revascularization with no increase in major bleeding. However, these advantages were not observed with prasugrel or ticagrelor pretreatment.

Several case-control studies have been conducted on the relationship between rs3775290 C/T and rs3853839 C/G single nucleotide polymorphisms of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) gene and hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) susceptibility and severity. This meta-analysis aimed to offer a systemic review of HFMD susceptibility and severity among the Chinese Han population associated with the C/T (rs3775290) polymorphism of the TLR3 gene or C/G (rs3853839) polymorphism of the TLR7 gene. ⋯ rs3775290 (C/T) of TLR3 is associated with susceptibility to the severe type, whereas rs3853839 (C/G) of TLR7 is associated with susceptibility to HFMD. However, owing to the limited quantity and quality of the research, the aforementioned conclusions are yet to be justified by more high-quality research.

Recent case reports have suggested that anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) agents are associated with an increased risk of developing psoriasis in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). ⋯ Anti-TNF treatment did not contribute to the psoriasis development in patients with IBD. Based on our study, anti-TNF agents may be used for IBD treatment without concern for psoriasis development.

Role of pilocarpine use following laser peripheral iridotomy in eyes with refractory acute angle closure glaucoma: A case report and literature review.
Angle closure glaucoma (ACG) is one of the most emergent types of glaucoma in clinical practice. Laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) could minimize pupillary block and prevent ACG from an acute attack. However, recurrent increase in intraocular pressure (IOP) may still occur despite successful LPI. The aim of this study is to highlight the importance of postLPI pilocarpine use and larger LPI size as well as to share some experiences of cataract surgery in patients with ACG. ⋯ This report highlights the importance of postLPI pilocarpine use and larger LPI size in patients with refractory ACG.

Binocular treatment for individual with amblyopia: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To assess the efficacy of binocular treatment for individual with amblyopia. ⋯ Binocular treatment may be beneficial to visual acuity, stereo acuity and binocular function improvement for individual with amblyopia. In clinical practice, binocular treatment can be used as one of the treatments for individual with amblyopia.
