This study aimed to compare the risk of dementia between exposed to allopurinol and not exposed to allopurinol in persons who had gout and/or hyperuricemia. ⋯ This is the first meta-analysis to report that there is a negative relationship between the allopurinol exposure and the risk of dementia. Although the results favor the hypothesis, currently it is unable to draw strong conclusions about the protective effect of allopurinol against dementia due to inclusion of only a few eligible studies. Randomized controlled trials are needed to explore the relationship between allopurinol exposure and the probability of dementia.

Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis of the relationship between lymphovascular invasion and prognosis of patients with stage I gastric cancer.
Lymphovascular invasion is considered to be a high-risk pathological feature after radical resection of gastric cancer, but the relationship between lymphovascular invasion and the prognosis of stage I gastric cancer is still controversial. Therefore, we used meta-analysis to systematically evaluate the relationship between lymphovascular invasion and the prognosis of stage I gastric cancer. Up to September 2, 2021, the databases of PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CNKI, and Wanfang were searched. ⋯ A total of 7508 patients with stage I gastric cancer were included in 9 studies, and the positive rate of lymphovascular invasion was 17%. Lymphovascular invasion was significantly associated with shorter overall survival (OS) (univariate: HR = 4.05, 95%CI: 1.91-8.58; multivariate: HR = 2.10, 95%CI: 1.37-3.22) and relapse-free survival (RFS) (univariate: HR = 4.79, 95%CI: 2.30-9.99; multiple: HR = 2.17, 95%CI: 1.56-3.00). This study indicates that lymphovascular invasion is an independent risk factor affecting the prognosis of patients with stage I gastric cancer, and can be used as a reference index for postoperative adjuvant therapy.

Review Case Reports
Intramedullary spinal cord abscess associated with right-to-left shunt via right superior vena cava draining into left atrium: A case report.
Intramedullary spinal cord abscess (ISCA) is a rare but treatable bacterial infection of the central nervous system, and the etiology in no less than 40% of the cases is cryptogenic. Although a few cases of ISCA in individuals with a right-to-left shunt (RL shunt) have been reported, only few arguments focused on the association between RL shunt and ISCA have been provoked. The right superior vena cava (RSVC) draining into the left atrium (LA) is an uncommon systemic venous anomaly that results in an RL shunt, and this anomaly causes several types of neurological complication such as stroke or brain abscess. We report the first case of ISCA associated with RSVC-LA RL shunt. ⋯ With a literature review of ISCA associated with RL shunt, we insist that screening for RSVC-LA is beneficial to patients who are diagnosed with cryptogenic ISCA as its identification leads to appropriate preventive therapy.

Femoral prosthesis fracture after hip arthroplasty revision: A Case Report and Review of Literature.
A solution revision prosthesis has a multilayer microporous Porocoat coating, and the availability of multiple stem body sizes ensures that the prosthesis is adapted to each patient's anatomical structure so that there a firm attachment with the bone cortex in the middle of the femur. Therefore, the Solution prosthesis is one of the most commonly used and most effective prostheses in total hip arthroplasty worldwide. ⋯ For patients with type B2 prosthesis loosening and prosthesis fracture, hip arthroplasty revision and an allogeneic bone plate could be used to ensure more stable support.

The combination of pregnancy and cancer is a challenge for the patient and a problematic clinical dilemma for the doctor. In this retrospective observational cohort study, we have tried to analyze our experience in the management of such patients. This review includes 41 patients with malignant neoplasms detected during pregnancy who received treatment at the Almazov National Medical Research Centre from 2015-2021. ⋯ All children born at term were mature and had no growth restriction, regardless of whether the mothers received treatment during pregnancy or not. When detecting cancer during pregnancy, an immediate follow-up examination is required to assess the extent of the tumor and current fetal state. If pregnancy prolongation is requested, the treatment should not be postponed, except for systemic chemotherapy in the first trimester of pregnancy, pelvic radiation at any term.
