Tuberculosis infection related hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis diagnosed in patient with GZMB mutation: A case report and literature review.
Secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a life-threatening syndrome associated with infections, tumors and connective tissue disease. However rapid identification of the underlying infectious cause of HLH is challenging because traditional etiological diagnostics are time-consuming and sometimes fail to identify the pathogens. Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) may be a potential optimal solution, which may help improve the clinical diagnosis of underlying infections in hematological diseases. ⋯ The present case proposed that mNGS might be an effective diagnostic tool for diagnosing rare infectious cause of secondary HLH. GZMB mutation was first discovered to be present in secondary HLH.

This study aimed at providing an updated evidence of the association between intraoperative lidocaine and risk of postcardiac surgery cognitive deficit. ⋯ Our results indicated a prophylactic effect of intravenous lidocaine against cognitive deficit only at the early postoperative period despite insufficient evidence. Further large-scale studies are warranted to assess its use for the prevention of cognitive deficit and enhancement of recovery (e.g., LOS).

A growing body of literature now exists examining associations between social determinants of health (SDOH) and adverse outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation; however, little is available on anticoagulant prescriptions and the impact of SDOH. ⋯ This systematic review and meta-analysis was registered with PROSPERO.

Rib and pericardium invaded huge abdominal mass in young woman: A case report with literature review.
Desmoid fibromatosis is a rare benign tumor, but due to its rarity and diverse clinical course, treatment guidelines have not been established. However, since a good prognosis can be expected, an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment are required. We describe a rare case of desmoid fibromatosis on young female that presented as huge abdominal mass. ⋯ The mainstay of treatment of symptomatic desmoid fibromatosis is surgical resection, and in the case of abdominal tumor, it can be more dangerous when it invades adjacent organ. We report a case that required additionally multidisciplinary approach for surgery and postoperative treatment of huge abdominal desmoid tumor which infiltrate bone and pericardium beyond abdominal cavity.

Meta Analysis
Predictive value of baseline C-reactive protein level in patients with stable coronary artery disease: A meta-analysis.
Conflicting results have been reported on the association of C-reactive protein (CRP) level with adverse outcomes in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD). The objective of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the predictive value of baseline CRP level in stable CAD patients. ⋯ Elevated baseline CRP level was an independent predictor of MACEs, cardiovascular mortality, and all-cause mortality in patients with stable CAD. Baseline CRP level can provide important predictive information in stable CAD patients.
