Meta Analysis
Predictive value of baseline C-reactive protein level in patients with stable coronary artery disease: A meta-analysis.
Conflicting results have been reported on the association of C-reactive protein (CRP) level with adverse outcomes in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD). The objective of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the predictive value of baseline CRP level in stable CAD patients. ⋯ Elevated baseline CRP level was an independent predictor of MACEs, cardiovascular mortality, and all-cause mortality in patients with stable CAD. Baseline CRP level can provide important predictive information in stable CAD patients.

Thrombocytosis predicts poor prognosis of Asian patients with colorectal cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
There is no study analyzing and evaluating the prognostic role of thrombocytosis in Asian patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). ⋯ The present meta-analysis demonstrates that thrombocytosis is a potentially useful tool for predicting poor survival in Asian patients with CRC, especially for overall survival.

Meta Analysis
A network meta-analysis of curative effect of different treatment methods on patients with brain metastasis of breast cancer.
Breast cancer (BC) is a malignant tumor with the highest incidence rate worldwide, and its incidence of breast cancer brain metastases is increased in recent years. Although significant progress has been made in the systematic treatment of BC that of breast cancer brain metastases is still very difficult. Organically integrating local and systemic therapies remains an urgent problem to be solved. In this study, a network meta-analysis was performed to collect the treatment effects of different treatment measures on patients with BC brain metastasis in recent years, evaluate and screen the current best clinical treatment scheme, and assist doctors in formulating clinical treatment schemes. ⋯ Combined with overall response rate, disease control rate, and overall survival, whole-brain radiation therapy + 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy + Che may be the intervention measure with the highest objective remission rate for patients with brain metastasis of BC, besides, it may also be the intervention measure of the highest disease control rate in patients after treatment. In contrast, WBRT + Che may be the intervention with the lowest overall survival risk ratio after treatment.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Comparing the effects of continuous infusion of esmolol and ramosetron alone and in combination on nausea and vomiting after laparoscopic cholecystectomy: A prospective, randomized, double-blind study.
Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a common complication of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Although PONV is usually mild, severe thing can delay recovery and prolong hospitalization. We aimed to investigate the effects of ramosetron and esmolol, alone and in combination, on PONV, and pain. ⋯ Despite reducing pain after laparoscopic cholecystectomy, esmolol did not prevent PONV, whether used alone or in combination with ramosetron.

Randomized Controlled Trial
A randomized, controlled simulation study comparing single and double operator ultrasound-guided regional nerve block techniques using a gelatine-based home-made phantom.
The aim of this study was to compare anesthesiology residents' acquisition of gripping and needling skills in either single-or double-operator ultrasound-guided nerve block using a hand-made phantom. ⋯ Hands-on training of phantom models may be beneficial for the acquisition of single-operator grip skills.
