Multicenter Study
The frequency and prognostic significance of ABO/Rh blood groups in male breast cancer patients: A multicenter study.
The study evaluated the distributions and prognostic significance of ABO and rhesus (D) groups in male breast cancer (MBC) patients. The data of 137 patients were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical, histopathological data and ABO/Rh blood groups of the patients were recorded. ⋯ In univariate analysis, ABO/Rh blood groups were not a prognostic factor on OS (P = .29). The frequency of the AB blood group in MBC patients is increased than in the healthy control group. AB blood group may be a risk factor for MBC, whereas O blood group may be a protective factor.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Effects of bevel direction of endotracheal tube on the postoperative sore throat when performing fiberoptic-guided tracheal intubation: A randomized controlled trial.
During fiberoptic-guided tracheal intubation, impingement between the distal tip of the endotracheal tube and the airway tissue can cause difficulties in tube insertion or tissue damage during the tube advancement over the bronchoscope. This randomized controlled study aimed to investigate the effects of the endotracheal tube's bevel direction on the complications associated with airway injury when performing fiberoptic-guided tracheal intubation. ⋯ Endotracheal tube insertion with the bevel facing the dorsal direction of the patient during fiberoptic-guided tracheal intubation reduced the severity of postoperative sore throat in patients undergoing laparoscopic gynecologic surgery.

Employee stress and well-being affect organizational efficiency and productivity, as well as physical and psychological health of employees. Mindfulness is believed to reduce stress, prevent diseases, and promote well-being. Mindfulness has been used as the main component of various smartphone-based healthcare applications. Previous studies have suggested that mindfulness applications have a positive effect on employee stress and mental health. However, relatively few randomized controlled trials have examined the effectiveness of mindfulness applications on employees. This study aims to evaluate whether mobile mindfulness training (MMT) as a stress self-management tool improves employees' perceived stress, subjective well-being, and Mibyeong, a condition that is not a disease but shows obvious health abnormalities. ⋯ Four weeks of MMT improved the subjective well-being and Mibyeong of employees. However, further studies are required to investigate the effect of MMT on other areas of mental health.

Advanced malignant melanoma (MM) is treated with immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy, which often results in several immune-related adverse events. Fulminant type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is a rare, rapidly progressive, life-threatening disease. Here, we summarize 8 cases of MM with ICI-induced T1DM and describe one case that developed fulminant T1DM due to nivolumab therapy. ⋯ A 67-year-old patient who received adjuvant nivolumab therapy developed fulminant T1DM and thyrotoxicosis 57 days later and tested positive for GAD antibodies. Subsequently, he developed hypophysitis and an isolated adrenocorticotropin deficiency. He continued receiving nivolumab along with self-injected insulin without developing recurrence.

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is relatively rarely injured in children and adolescents, accounting for just 0.5% of all ACL rips that occur. Avulsion fractures are more common in youngsters because their ligamentous structures are known to be stronger than their physical insertion sites. Tibial eminences have been reported to be the sites of most ACL avulsions, and both cartilaginous and osteochondral avulsion fractures have been observed, whereas the latter occurs more commonly. On the other hand, femoral osteochondral avulsion fractures of the ACL in children are uncommon, as only a few studies describe their occurrence in immature patients. ⋯ ACL avulsion fractures can be accurately treated with arthroscopic reduction and sutures via an inside-out technique, which can reduce the risk of persistent ligamentous laxity and reduce open surgery-related morbidity.
