Female sex workers (FSW) suffer stigma and discrimination that negatively impact their physical and mental health and affect access to health care services. This paper aims to describe selected health indicators among FSW in 12 Brazilian cities in 2016. Brazilian cross-sectional Biological Behavioral Surveillance Survey was conducted in 2016 among 4328 FSW recruited by respondent-driven sampling. ⋯ The vulnerability of FSW is expressed in all health indicators. Indicators of health status, antenatal care, pap smear coverage, and contraception were worse than in the Brazilian population, and point out to the importance of increase FSW's access to health care services. Also, stigma and discrimination emerged as an important barrier to FSW's health care in all dimensions and need to be struggled.

Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is the most common complication of herpes zoster, whereas postherpetic pruritus (PHP) a rare one. Although PHN has been extensively studied, few studies have investigated PHP. The purpose of this study was to investigate PHP incidence and associated factors in patients with PHN. ⋯ Twenty-eight percent of patients with PHN developed PHP. At 3 and 4 months after vesicle formation, patients with PHP had greater pain improvement compared to those without. Patients with PHN in the trigeminal nerve also had a higher incidence of PHP compared to others.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients have distinct clinical features in the pediatric groups. However, there is a paucity of research focused on clinical manifestation within pediatric group in Taiwan. This study is to conduct a retrospective study of the clinical features of COVID-19 in Taiwan pediatric patients. ⋯ Ct-values higher than 19 were associated with asymptomatic infection, which may be a predictor of pediatric disease severity. Our results highlight the distinct clinical manifestations and outcomes in pediatric COVID-19 patients. Compared to the adults, pediatric patients aged ≤ 18 years with COVID-19 in Taiwan mainly had mild disease.

This study aimed to investigate the value of the product of peripheral blood platelet and serum C-reactive protein (P-CRP), an inflammatory indicator, for the prognosis of patients with osteosarcoma. Patients with osteosarcoma who were diagnosed and treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, China, between January 2012 and December 2019 were included in this retrospective study. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to calculate the optimal cut-off values for inflammatory indicators such as P-CRP, the C-reactive protein/albumin ratio (CRP/Alb), the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and the platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in the peripheral blood of patients before treatment. ⋯ The multivariate analysis results showed that tumor volume (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.061; 95% CI, 1.001-1.125; P = .046) and preoperative P-CRP (HR, 1.037; 95% CI, 1.024-1.050; P < .01) were independent prognostic factors affecting the OS rate after osteosarcoma surgery. The results of our study showed that P-CRP is a novel and promising prognostic indicator for patients with osteosarcoma. The higher the P-CRP level in the peripheral blood of patients is before treatment, the worse the prognosis might be.

Aggressive rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction may result in better clinical outcomes and fewer complications such as knee stiffness and weakness. We explored the effect of the Chinese knotting technique (CKT) for aggressive rehabilitation after ACL reconstruction. Ninety-one anatomical ACL reconstruction cases from 2016 to 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. ⋯ Compared to the routine group, the International Knee Documentation Committee scores were significantly higher in the CKT group at the 3, 6, and 12 months, respectively, but no difference was observed at 24 months (P = .749). The Lysholm score was significantly higher in the CKT group at the 3 and 6 months postoperatively, while there was no difference at 12 and 24 months, respectively. In short-term observation, the ACL reconstruction with CKT, which can sustain aggressive rehabilitation and prevent the loosening of ACL graft, can lead to better clinical outcomes and kinematics recovery of the knee compared to routine technique.
