This study aims to investigate the variability of pulmonary nodule (PN) volumetry on multiphase coronary CT angiograms (CCTA). Two radiologists reviewed 5973 CCTA scans in this cross-sectional study to detect incidental solid noncalcified PNs measuring between 5 and 8 mm. Each radiologist measured the nodules' diameters and volume, in systole and diastole, using 2 commercially available software packages to analyze PNs. ⋯ The inter-observer variability of the systolic and diastolic subsets was [-13.6%; 31.4%] and [-13.9%; 19.7%], respectively. Using diastolic volume measurements, the variability of PN volumetry on CCTA scans is similar to the reported variability of volumetry on low-dose CT scans. Therefore, growth estimation of PNs on CCTA scans could be feasible.

This systematic review (SR) of SRs aims aimed to evaluate the current evidence of rehabilitation interventions in stroke patients after acupuncture treatment. ⋯ This review summarizes the available evidence and underpins findings of the acupuncture exhibited the therapeutic role in eliminating metabolic risk factors for stroke, including systolic blood pressure, weight loss, glycemic index and cholesterol. Acupuncture could have positive effects on a specific symptom, and the effects depend not only on intervention type but also on how and when the intervention is provided. And more prioritizing high-quality research in this field in the future is conducive to guiding clinical practice.

Double-eyelid surgery is a very common practice in East Asian patients. The differential distribution of pretarsal tissue layers is considered to be the anatomical mechanism of natural Asiatic single eyelid, it is possible to form double-eyelid crease by re-positioning the pretarsal structure layers. The author presents a new double-eyelid surgery based on re-positioning of the pretarsal structure layers without tissue removal. ⋯ All patients who were not satisfied with their esthetic outcomes underwent second correction surgery. This new Pan-flap technique focuses on the correct dissection and repositioning of differentially thickened pre-pretarsal levator aponeurosis fascia fibroadipose tissue in East Asian patients. This new technique can generate broader and tighter attachment between pretarsal orbicularis oculi muscle and levator aponeurosis fascia, and form smooth double-eyelid crease without pretarsal soft tissue removal.

Observational Study
Influence of body fatness on propofol requirements for loss of consciousness in target-controlled infusion: A STROBE-compliant study.
This prospective observational study evaluated the effects of body fat on the pharmacologic effect of propofol. Hundred patients aged 18 to 75 years who were scheduled to undergo orthopedic surgery under regional block were enrolled. All participants underwent bioelectrical impedance analysis and were allocated into 2 groups: the high and normal adiposity group, according to percent body fat. ⋯ There was no significant difference in the data related to ROC. The pharmacologic effects of propofol may be affected by the composition of body components. The concentration of propofol using a target-controlled infusion system may be diminished in patients with a high proportion of body fat.

The purpose of this study was to confirm the association between the serum vitamin D levels and ischemic stroke lesion size, functional ability, and cognitive function in elderly ischemic stroke patients. This study included Korean ischemic stroke patients aged 65 to 85 years. The size of the lesion was measured in brain images taken within 24 hours of hospitalization. ⋯ And we confirmed that serum vitamin D levels affected the functional ability and cognitive function. And we recommend that elderly Koreans should maintain their blood vitamin D level above 30 ng/mL. We believe that this will help preserve the functional ability and cognitive function when ischemic stroke occurred.
