The objective for the study was to analysis the epidemiology of adenosarcoma, and independent prognostic factors and impact of lymph node dissection (LND) of uterine adenosarcoma. Cases of patients with primary adenosarcoma were obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database from 2000 to 2016. Overall survival was analyzed by the Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test. ⋯ The majority of primary adenosarcoma patients are female with high incidence of uterus and rare incidence of distant metastasis. Age, marital status, tumor size, T stage, grade, and chemotherapy are independent prognostic factors of uterine adenosarcoma. LNM was not a significant prognostic risk factor, and LND did not benefit survival.

Effectiveness of an integrative medicine approach to improve cognitive dysfunction and dementia: An observational study.
Despite the urgent need to control dementia, an effective treatment has yet to be developed. Along with the Korean government's policy of cooperation between conventional medicine (CM) and Korean medicine (KM), integrative medical services for dementia patients are being provided. This study aimed to compare the integrative medical clinic (IMC) for dementia used by Dongguk University Hospitals (DUH) with other service models and to review the characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients who had visited DUH over the past 5 years. ⋯ All 8 patients had mild cognitive impairment including 6 with amnestic, multidomain impairment. This study searched for a way to improve cognitive dysfunction and dementia using an integrative approach, and it shows promising results for mild cognitive impairment. However, more precisely designed follow-up studies are needed to address the present work's limitations of a retrospective study design and a small sample size.

There has been an epidemic of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) delta variant in Jingmen, China, and the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of all patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 delta variant in an epidemic are rarely reported. All the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients diagnosed in Jingmen in August 2021 were enrolled in this study. Epidemiological data and clinical characteristics were analyzed. ⋯ Thirty patients had no pneumonia, 27 patients had mild pneumonia, and only one patient with multiple chronic diseases had severe pneumonia. None of the 11 children had been vaccinated, 10 did not have pneumonia, and 1 had a small lung lesion. The number of new patients disappeared in 15 days after the lockdown of the city.

Prevalence of depression is high among medical students and several mental problems are identified as risk factors. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic causes difficulties that could adversely affect mental health. However, data concerning prevalence of mental problems, and whether or not these problems remain risk factors for depression during the COVID-19 pandemic in medical students are scarce. ⋯ The independent predictors of depression were lower grade point average, social media addiction, and moderate-to-high perceived stress. A high prevalence of depression, stress, and poor sleep was found among medical students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Medical students who are stressed, have lower grades, and/or who are addicted to social media warrant depression screening.

While the impact of respiratory virus infections has been well researched in some respiratory diseases, no clinical studies have discussed the subject of who would be more likely to develop respiratory virus infections among patients with various respiratory illnesses who come from different backgrounds. This study aimed to identify respiratory diseases that are frequently associated with respiratory virus infections along with the characteristics of patients who develop such infections in clinical settings. Tested specimens were obtained from the lower respiratory tract by bronchoscopy to provide more accurate data. ⋯ These illnesses were considered to be induced by respiratory infections. Immunosuppressant therapy and maintenance dialysis were associated with respiratory virus infections. Multiplex PCR testing is an essential diagnostic tool for respiratory virus infections in immunocompromised patients.
