Efficacy of long-term extended nursing services combined with atezolizumab in patients with bladder cancer after endoscopic bladder resection.
Nursing has been reported to effectively ameliorate physical movement, significantly decrease postoperative complications, and markedly improve the quality of life in patients with bladder cancer after endoscopic bladder resection. Atezolizumab (ATZ) has been approved as effective therapy for patients with bladder cancer. This study was aimed to assess the efficacy of long-term extended nursing services combined with ATZ in patients with bladder cancer after endoscopic bladder resection. ⋯ In conclusion, outcomes in this study indicate that LTENS-ATZ improves renal function, and quality of life and prognosis in patients with bladder cancer after endoscopic bladder resection.

Sorsby fundus dystrophy (SFD) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder with complete penetrance affecting the macula. This is caused by a mutation in the TIMP-3. This objective narrative review aims to provide an overview of the pathophysiology, current treatment modalities, and future perspectives. ⋯ If CNV is detected and treated promptly, patients with SFD have a good chance of maintaining a functional central vision. Other treatment modalities have been tried but have shown limited benefit, and therefore, have not managed to be more widely accepted. In summary, although there is no definitive cure yet, the use of anti-VEGF treatment for secondary CNV has provided the opportunity to maintain functional vision in individuals with SFD, provided CNV is detected and treated early.

Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a group of diseases that cannot be explained after routine clinical examination, and is characterized by postprandial fullness, early satiety, and upper abdominal pain or burning. According to the statistics, FD continues to become one of the high-risk sequelae of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), affecting patients' quality of life, increasing psychological burden and increasing economic costs. However, its optimal treatment is still an urgent problem. A large number of studies have shown that acupuncture and moxibustion is effective and safe in the treatment of FD caused by sequelae of COVID-19, which is of research value. Therefore, based on the current literatures, the effectiveness and safety of different acupuncture and moxibustion methods were systematically evaluated to provide possible alternative therapy on FD. ⋯ This meta-analysis will evaluate the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on FD caused by sequelae of COVID-19, providing evidence as to the treatment in these patients.

Coronavirus infectious disease 2019 (COVID-19) confirmed cases are characterized by T lymphopenia. Total apoptotic and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) expressing cells among CD4+/CD8+ cells were analyzed in 24 COVID-19 patients (16 out-patients and 8 in-patients) and 18 healthy volunteers using flow cytometry to detect their possible role in T lymphopenia. Hospitalized patients did not show significant difference compared to non-hospitalized patients. ⋯ Total lymphopenia and depletion of CD4+/CD8+ cells are characterizing COVID-19 patients. Increased apoptosis and CTLA-4 expression in CD4+/CD8+ cells in COVID-19 and their correlations with reduced cell count and severity indicators as CRP and ferritin can be used for diagnosis and follow up of the clinical severity. Our current study proposes promising future diagnostic and therapeutic targets.

The existence of conspiracy beliefs has been previously linked to multiple individual traits and factors, such as anxiety, lack of information, education, and social factors. This study aims to explore the factors and variables influencing the individual's susceptibility to conspiratorial thinking, as well as the impact of COVID-19 conspiracy belief on the adoption of public health and social measures. This study explores the factors influencing the susceptibility to conspiratorial thinking and the impact of conspiracy theories on the adoption of public health and social measures. ⋯ Meanwhile, conspiracy beliefs had no relation to the individual's perceived self-reported stress. Higher conspiracy scores were related to lower adoption of preventive measures and increased hesitancy towards COVID-19 vaccination. Lack of knowledge and misinformation actions play a vital role in the generation of conspiracy theories surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
