Case Reports
Metabolism of barium in the human body after suicidal ingestion: A CARE-compliant case report.
Thus far, barium poisoning has been seldom reported and the metabolism of barium in human body has not been explored. ⋯ The serum concentration of barium decreased rapidly in the first 24 hours. In this period, prompt and massive potassium supplementation and other symptomatic treatments are effective and recommended.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory autoimmune disease, which is well known for its poor symptoms, and the incidence is increasing worldwide. Although conventional medicines are practiced initially, patients often move or accompany to complementary and alternative medicines for better outcomes. Herbal medications, one of traditional medicinal approach, are widely used in clinical conditions. However, no research has broadly reviewed the current research trends regarding the scope of herbal medicines in RA. The aim of this study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of applications of herbal medicine for RA from 1991 to the present. ⋯ This bibliometric study identified trends in herbal medicine for RA from 1991 to 2021, which may guide the hot topics and future directions in this research field.

To investigate the significance of postmastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT) for different molecular subtypes of female breast cancer T1-2N1M0 based on inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW). The data of breast cancer patients diagnosed between 2010 and 2014 from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were extracted. According to the status of hormone receptor (HR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2), the patients were classified into luminal-A (HR+/HER2-), luminal-B (HR+/HER2+), HER2-enriched (HR-/HER2+), and TNBC (HR-/HER2-) subtypes. ⋯ There were 1003 deaths from breast cancer and 754 deaths from other causes. After IPTW, the covariates between groups reached complete equilibrium, the multifactorial Cox regression analysis showed that PMRT significantly prolonged OS and BCSS in Luminal-A and TNBC subtype breast cancer patients, yet it brought little significant survival advantage in Luminal-B and HER2-enriched subtype patients. Our study demonstrates a beneficial impact for PMRT on OS and BCSS among Luminal-A and TNBC subtype breast cancer patients with T1-2N1 disease.

Observational Study
Using the Kano model to associate the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in a population of 100,000 with case fatality rates: An observational study.
An important factor in understanding the spread of COVID-19 is the case fatality rate (CFR) for each county. However, many of research reported CFRs on total confirmed cases (TCCs) rather than per 100,000 people. The disparate definitions of CFR in COVID-19 result in inconsistent results. It remains uncertain whether the incident rate and CFR can be compared to identify countries affected by COVID-19 that are under (or out of) control. This study aims to develop a diagram for dispersing TCC and CFR on a population of 100,000 (namely, TCC100 and CFR100) using the Kano model, to examine selected countries/regions that have successfully implemented preventative measures to keep COVID-19 under control, and to design an app displaying TCC100 and CFR100 for all infected countries/regions. ⋯ A Kano diagram was drawn to compare TCC100 against CFT (or CFR100) to gain a better understanding of COVID-19. There is a strong association between a higher TCC100 value and a higher CFR100 value. A dashboard was developed to display both CFR100/CFR against TCC100 for countries/regions.

A cohort of 123 patients diagnosed with gliomas (World Health Organization grades II-IV) who underwent surgery and was treated at our center between January 2016 and July 2020, was enrolled in this retrospective study. Radiomics features were extracted from MR T1WI, T2WI, T2FLAIR, CE-T1WI, and ADC images. Patients were randomly split into training and validation sets at a ratio of 4:1. A radiomics signature was constructed using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) to train the SVM model using the training set. The prediction accuracy and area under curve and other evaluation indexes were used to explore the performance of the model established in this study for predicting the ATRX mutation state. ⋯ These results indicate that radiomic features derived from preoperative MRI facilitat efficient prediction of ATRX status in gliomas, thus providing a novel evaluation method for noninvasive imaging biomarkers.
