There has been an increasing demand for psychiatric care in recent decades, and "telepsychiatry" was developed to meet these demands. It is a type of telemedicine in which they provide many medical services virtually, such as therapy, counseling, and medication management. Telepsychiatry has numerous advantages, including lower costs, reduced stigma, and improved continuity of care. ⋯ Telepsychiatry has been evaluated to meet the growing demand for psychiatric care; it also has significant advantages. Patients had an overall positive satisfaction level toward telepsychiatry service, and so the results of this study support the continuity of using telepsychiatry in the future. Further research area could include a comparison between patients' and providers' satisfaction levels with telepsychiatry.

This study aimed to design a modified subgingival sling suture for periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) as well as evaluate postoperative effects including gingival recession (GR), alveolar bone crest resorption, dental plague accumulation on sutures and alveolar bone augmentation. Twelve patients with bone defects in the anterior alveolar region of the mandible were included in this study. Subgingival sling suture, developed from traditional sling suture, was applied in modified PAOO operation. ⋯ Alveolar bone thickness on the labial side at the midpoint of the middle third of the root increased from 0.96 ± 0.28 mm to 3.38 ± 0.61 mm (P < .01), and that of the apical third advanced from 1.26 ± 0.33 mm to 3.61 ± 1.02 mm (P < .01), both exhibiting significant increase. No significant alveolar bone crest loss, probing depth increase, GR, and attachment loss was observed. This modified PAOO operation, associated with novel subgingival sling suture, productively augments alveolar bone volume and addresses problems in terms of GR and vertical loss of alveolar bone.

In clinical practice, colorectal cancer (CRC) is difficult to distinguish from ulcerative colitis and colon polyps. Practical markers are useful for diagnosing and treating patients with CRC. Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a biomarker for diagnosing patients with CRC. ⋯ The combination of serum CEA, IL-17A, and TNF-α achieved higher diagnostic efficacy for CRC (area under the curve = 0.935). The combination of CEA, IL-17, and TNF-α has better diagnostic efficacy than CEA alone in CRC. A panel containing IL-17A, TNF-α, and CEA could be a promising molecular biomarker panel to diagnostically differentiate CRC from ulcerative colitis, colon polyps, and stomach cancer.

Biliary atresia (BA) is the most common cause of obstructive jaundice during the neonatal period. This study aimed to identify gene expression signature in BA. The datasets were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. ⋯ Functional enrichment analysis revealed that module genes were mainly involved in biological processes, such as extracellular matrix organization, cell adhesion, inflammatory response, and the Notch pathway (P < .001), whereas these genes were involved in the metabolic pathways and cell adhesion molecules (P < .001). Thirty-nine high-connectivity genes in the brown module constructed protein-protein interaction networks. keratin 7 (KRT7) and C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 8 (CXCL8) were used to construct a diagnostic model that had an accuracy of 93.6% and the area under the receiver operating curves for the model was 0.93. The study provided insight into the signature of gene expression and possible pathogenesis of BA; furthermore, it identified that the combination of KRT7 and CXCL8 could be a potential diagnostic model for BA.

The aim of the present study was to perform clinical, biochemical, and radiological evaluation of the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells derived from Wharton jelly (WJ) present within the human umbilical cord in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Between 2018 and 2019, 10 patients with knee osteoarthritis for whom the conservative treatment was not beneficial were included in the study. Patients were clinically, radiologically, and biochemically evaluated before treatment initiation. ⋯ In patients with knee osteoarthritis, intra-articular WJ-derived MSC injection causes significant pain reduction, satisfactory functional improvement, and increased patient satisfaction following a 1-year follow-up. These clinical improvements were supported by magnetic resonance images, along with changes in adiponectin and leptin levels in synovial fluid. Level of evidence: IV.
