This study aimed to evaluate the usefulness, reliability, quality, and related characteristics of YouTube video clips on congenital muscular torticollis (CMT). This cross-sectional study analyzed 47 YouTube video clips on CMT. They were classified as either useful or misleading by 2 rehabilitation doctors. ⋯ The popularity of the video clips does not indicate more usefulness, reliability, and better quality. YouTube viewers should be aware of these findings. We recommend that the viewers preferentially choose video clips on CMT presented by healthcare professionals, not by the video popularity.

Nicotine is a toxic alkaloid known to be responsible for the addictive feature of cigarettes. CYP2A6 genetic polymorphism among individuals was suspected to explain the relationship between cigarette smoking and related diseases. CYP2A6 works to slow nicotine metabolism and thus maintain a more prolonged nicotine concentration and increase nicotine exposure to the blood. ⋯ Thus, this study suggests that the mutant CYP2A6 gene allele significantly increased the risk of having severe coronary stenosis 1.2 times higher compared to the wild type. This pilot study showed that CYP2A6 gene has an influential role in atherosclerotic development in male smokers. However, our findings should be confirmed with further more extensive studies.

The hamstrings are more impacted than the quadriceps after severe ankle sprain.
Ankle sprains (AS) are common in the military population, with a prevalence 5 to 8 times higher than that for civilians. The aim of this study was to evaluate in patients with severe AS the impact of disuse on thigh muscle induced by unloading and immobilization due to care. This study focused on muscle trophicity and dynamometric strength. ⋯ Our study showed that disuse leads to a significant deficit in the strength of knee muscles within 1 month. It is noteworthy that the hamstrings are more affected than the quadriceps. The rehabilitation protocol to prevent the risk of iterative ankle injuries and secondary knee injuries should incorporate early training of both quadriceps and hamstrings.

Relationship between mental disorders, psychotropic drugs, and constipation in psychiatric outpatients.
Constipation has been reported to be more common in patients with mental disorders than in the general population. However, its relationships with psychiatric diagnosis, medication, age, and sex have not been fully identified. A total of 875 patients from the outpatient department were included in the study. ⋯ In psychiatric outpatients, females had significantly higher rates of problems with defecation and laxative use than males. The use of laxatives significantly increased with age. Problems with defecation were significantly more common in patients taking hypnotics and laxative use was significantly more common in patients taking hypnotics and antipsychotics.

A network pharmacology integrated molecular docking strategy was used to predict the underlying molecular mechanism of Ermiao san in the treatment of hyperuricemia and gout. Traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology (TCMSP) database and analysis platform were used to screen out the active compounds and their targets of Ermiao san. The disease target genes related to hyperuricemia (HUA) and gout were obtained by searching CTD, DisGeNET, DrugBank, GeneCards, OMIM, TTD, and PharmGKB databases with "Hyperuricemia" and "Gout" as keywords, respectively. ⋯ And the key pathways are nuclear factor-κB, interleukin-17 and tumor necrosis factor. The results of molecular docking analyses suggested that active compounds of Ermiao san could bind well to the core protein receptors. Ermiao san has a synergistic mechanism of multiple compounds, multiple targets, and multiple pathways in the treatment of HUA and gout, which provides a good theoretical basis for the clinical application.
