The relationship between air pollutants, including fine particles (particulate matter [PM] < 10 μm and < 2.5 μm), and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) has been inadequately studied, and the results remain inconclusive. In this study, we attempted to investigate the relationship between air pollutant levels and aneurysmal SAH. ⋯ A relationship between PM levels and aneurysm rupture was not identified. Only the levels of classic air pollutant (CO, O3, and NO2) were higher on the aneurysm rupture day than on the other days.

Endovascular recanalization of extensively-thrombosed cerebral venous sinuses in early pregnancy: A case report.
The incidence of pregnancy-related cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is rare, and cerebral hemorrhage caused by CVST in the early pregnancy period is even rarer. Only 3 cases of cerebral hemorrhage caused by CVST had been reported in the early pregnancy period in the literature. In this study, we reported successful endovascular treatment of such a case. ⋯ Pregnancy-related CVST can be successfully treated with a combined endovascular approach of aspiration, thrombolysis, and anticoagulation to complete recovery.

Lateral ventricle pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma concurrent with Dandy-Walker complex: A case report.
Dandy-Walker complex and pleomorphic xanthoastrocytomas are both rare disease entities that typically manifest early in life and are associated with congenital etiological factors. Dandy-Walker complex is a cerebellar malformation associated with a series of anatomical changes. The disease onset is usually at birth or during infancy. Late onset in adulthood is uncommon. Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma is a rare WHO grade II astrocytic tumor affecting mainly young adults. Concomitant occurrence of Dandy-Walker complex and pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma has not been previously reported. ⋯ This is the first report of concomitant occurrence of Dandy-Walker complex and pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma. The association of neurological congenital malformation with intracranial neoplasms may be multifactorial, with underlying role of genetic mutations or chromosome alterations.

Daily output measures of Emergency Department in association with seasonality and day of the week: A retrospective cohort observational study.
To evaluate the daily output measures of the emergency department (ED) in association with seasonality and the day of the week. A retrospective cohort of ED visits to tertiary medical centers between 2016 and 2020. The research unit was each day during the study period. ⋯ Admission rates varied slightly by season but were similar by day of the week apart from Saturdays. This may be attributable to the case mix on Saturdays or less restriction to admit when the number of visits is low. We recommended each Emergency Department to evaluate its daily output measures dependency with seasonality and day of the week for operational optimization.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most common cancer, which is characterized by complicated etiology, excessive heterogeneity, and poor prognosis. Necroptosis is a new kind of programmed cell death, which is intently associated with the occurrence and development of tumors. Although researchers have had a deep understanding of necroptosis in recent years, the expression level of necroptosis-related genes in HCC and its relationship with the survival time of HCC patients are not clear. ⋯ The risk score can be considered as an independent prognostic factor to predict the prognosis of patients with HCC, and necroptosis-related genes are also closely related to tumor immune function.
