MicroRNAs (miRNAs), regulatory noncoding RNAs, are involved in gene regulation and may play a role in cancer development. The aim of this study was to identify miRNAs involved in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) using bioinformatics analysis. MiRNA (GSE135918), mRNA (GSE136043) and lncRNA (GSE130779) microarray datasets were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database to identify differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMis), mRNAs (DEMs), and lncRNA (DELs) in LUAD. ⋯ And the high expression level of hsa-miR-3944 was associated with poor OS (P < .05). Hsa-miR-30a-3p may suppress the occurrence and progression of lung cancer through Wnt and AKT signaling pathways and become a good biomarker in LUAD. Hsa-miR-3944 and hsa-miR-3652 may serve as new biomarkers in LUAD.

Abdominal wall blocks are frequently used due to the use of effective blocks, such as the transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block and the widespread use of ultrasound (US) imaging. A good knowledge of abdominal innervation is required for the use of abdominal wall blocks. We describe the extraordinary performance of external oblique intercostal (EOI) blocks in 3 different surgeries. ⋯ We think that EOI block will come to occupy a significant place in upper abdominal analgesia, especially in obese patients, due to its wide innervation area and ease of application.

Depression has been associated with adverse outcomes in patients with cardiac disease. Data on its prevalence and the factors influencing it are limited in the cardiac rehabilitation program (CRP) setting. To elucidate the prevalence of and the factors that influence depression in patients attending CRP. ⋯ The prevalence of depression is high in patients attending CRP affecting 28% of the population. BDI-II is a simple validated screening tool that can be applied to patients attending CRP. Diabetics, current smokers, and South Asians all had a higher prevalence of depression.

Prognostic biomarkers for osteosarcoma (OS) are still very few, and this study aims to examine 2 novel prognostic biomarkers for OS through combined bioinformatics and experimental approach. ⋯ HS2ST1 and SDC3 are significantly dysregulated in OS, and the prognostic models constructed based on these 2 genes have much lower survival rates in the high-risk group than in the low-risk group. HS2ST1 and SDC3 can be used as glycolytic and immune-related prognostic biomarkers in OS.

Because of the limitations of therapeutic approaches, patients suffering from lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) have unsatisfactory prognoses. Studies have shown that neurotransmitters participated in tumorigenesis and development. In LUAD, the expression of neurotransmitter release cycle-related genes (NRCRGs) has been reported to be disordered. ⋯ Functional enrichment results demonstrated that differentially expressed genes between 2 NRC groups were closely correlated with DNA replication, cell-substrate adhesion, Golgi vesicle transport, MAPK signal pathway, and many others. Novel biomarkers were offered for predicting the prognoses of LUAD patients. The NRC score might contribute to guiding LUAD patients with immunotherapy selection.
