To compare the predictability of different formulas in the postoperative vault of an implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery and assist physicians for formula selection in ICL implantation. This is a retrospective study. Patients who underwent ICL implantation between August 31, 2021 and October 29, 2021 at our clinic were reviewed. ⋯ There was significant difference between the OCOS and KS groups (P < .05), especially in the 12.6 mm ICL group. The KS formula is the most accurate formula for recommending an ICL size and vault prediction when compared to the NK formula and OCOS. Further studies for a more accurate formula are warranted.

We aimed to evaluate the success of the ratio of chin-nape circumference (CNC) and neck circumference (NC) to CNC in predicting difficult mask ventilation (DMV) or difficult intubation (DI). Eighty-seven obese patients (body mass index ≥ 30) were evaluated between September 15, 2019 and September 15, 2020. Mallampati score, mouth opening, upper lip bite test, distance between incisors, thyromental distance (TMD), sternomental distance (SMD), and thyromental height were recorded. ⋯ A distance between the incisors < 4.85 cm and a NC > 41.5 cm were found to be independent risk factors for DI. CNC may predict DMV and DI in obese patients. The ratio of NC to CNC may predict DMV in obese patients.

Based on the real clinical data of Hospital Information System to explore the common clinical syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine after breast cancer surgery, analysis of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of breast cancer after the compatibility law. The real medical records of breast cancer patients after surgery in a tertiary hospital in Sichuan Province were collected and screened to build a medical record database. Python language was used for data preprocessing to remove outliers and fill in missing values. ⋯ The clinical syndrome type of traditional Chinese medicine after breast cancer surgery is mainly liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome. The clinical treatment is mainly soothing liver and relieving depression, and harmonizing liver and spleen. Analyze the syndrome type and the corresponding drug compatibility law, and provide decision support for the clinical dialectical prescription of traditional Chinese medicine after breast cancer surgery.

This study examined the effects of regorafenib (Reg) on progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and adverse events (AEs) in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients who underwent targeted treatment and chemotherapy. Reg was administered as a third-line treatment to 84 patients who had undergone 2 rounds of chemotherapy and targeted therapy and subsequently experienced progression. Treatment was initiated with a daily dose of 80 or 120 mg, based on the patient's ability to tolerate the medication, which was increased to 160 mg/day. ⋯ Patients with KRAS mutations had a prolonged mPFS than those with panRAS-wild type (6 ± 1.6 months vs 4 ± 0.3 months, P = .06). The mPFS contribution in the BRAF mutant subgroup with poor prognosis is promising, as it is similar to that of patients without BRAF mutations (4 months ± 0.8 × 4 months ± 0.5, P = .74). The most common AEs reported were elevated liver enzyme levels and dermatological toxicities.

Metformin is an old drug used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and can play a variety of roles by regulating the gut microbiota. The number of research articles on metformin in the gut microbiota has increased annually; however, no bibliometric tools have been used to analyze the research status and hot trends in this field. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of publications on metformin and gut microbiota. ⋯ This bibliometric study comprehensively summarizes the research trends and progress of metformin and gut microbiota, and provides new research topics and trends for studying the effects of metformin on gut microbiota in different diseases.
