To analyze clinical characteristics and anesthesia-related factors influencing central fever during cranial neurosurgery. 31 central fever cases (observation) and 120 controls (no fever) underwent detailed investigation. Anaesthesia-related variables were analyzed using logistic regression. Observation group exhibited significantly elevated indicators-CSF white blood cells, protein, CRP, severe EEG abnormalities, abnormal imaging, positive meningeal signs, seizures, consciousness disorders, and status epilepticus (P < .05). ⋯ Central fever, marked by CNS abnormalities, manifests with distinctive clinical features. Anesthesia plans have limited impact, while elevated HR, low Da-jvO2, and low CEO2 independently contribute to central fever. Understanding these factors is crucial for perioperative care optimization.

Caroli disease with subcutaneous hemorrhage as the sole clinical manifestation: A case report.
The disease of Caroli is a rare congenital disorder, characterized by the dilated intrahepatic bile ducts, resulting from mutations in the PKHD1 gene. Caroli syndrome, characterized by dilated intrahepatic bile ducts with congenital hepatic fibrosis, is linked to autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease. The clinical manifestations of Caroli disease are not typical, and Caroli disease is easy to be missed and misdiagnosed. Therefore, we reported this case in the hope of raising awareness of the disease among clinicians. ⋯ This case serves as a reminder that if we encounter a patient with hemophilia in our clinic, we should not only consider hematologic diseases and cirrhosis, but also perform an epigastric MRI and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography to rule out Caroli disease.

Endophthalmitis associated with Staphylococcus cohnii after vitrectomy and silicone oil insertion: A case report.
To report a case of endophthalmitis in a silicone oil (SO)-filled eye associated with Staphylococcus cohnii. After vitrectomy, the environment for bacterial growth in the eye is removed, and SO has antibacterial effect on a variety of microorganisms. Endophthalmitis is seen in about 0.040% cases after pars plana vitrectomy and is even more uncommon in cases where SO is used. ⋯ To the best of our knowledge, it is the first report of S. cohnii endophthalmitis in an SO-filled globe of an middle-aged patient. It is important to treat infective endophthalmitis with antibiotics promptly. Delayed therapy may affect the visual prognosis.

This study aimed to identify the key genes involved in the development of endometriosis and construct an accurate predictive model to provide new directions for the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis. Using bioinformatics analysis, we employed the single-cell cell communication method to identify the key cell subtypes. By combining chip data and integrating differential analysis, WGCNA analysis, and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) model, key genes were identified for immune infiltration and functional enrichment analyses. ⋯ The predictive model demonstrated good diagnostic performance. Through scRNA-seq, WGCNA, and LASSO methodologies, DES, GREM1, MBNL1, and AEBP1 emerged as crucial core genes linked to tissue stem cell markers in endometriosis. These genes have promising applications as diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets for endometriosis.

Previous studies have reported that the occurrence and development of acne are closely associated with immune-inflammatory responses. Mendelian randomization was performed to further assess the causal correlation between 41 inflammatory cytokines and acne. Mendelian two-sample randomization utilized genetic variants for acne from a large open genome-wide association study (1299 cases and 211,139 controls of European ancestry) and inflammatory cytokines from a genome-wide association study abstract containing 8293 healthy participants. ⋯ Our study conclusively identified a causal relationship between il-10 and circulating levels of acne risk and a suggestive link between MIP-1A and SCGF-β and acne. Our study may provide greater insight into the pathogenesis of acne and develop effective management strategies for the clinic. We believe that IL-10, MIP-1A, and SCGF-β could be potential therapeutic targets for acne development.
