Treatment of primary vaginal malignant melanoma and review of previous literature: A case report.
Primary vaginal malignant melanoma is a rare gynecological malignant tumor with high malignancy and poor prognosis. Because of its insidious incidence, it is generally diagnosed in the late stage, and the 5-year survival rate is only 5% to 25%. Due to the rarity of this disease and the limited number of related cases reported in the literature, there is currently no unified standard for its diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, the treatment of this disease has always been a difficult problem in clinical practice. ⋯ The treatment of primary vaginal malignant melanoma is still dominated by surgery, while radiotherapy and chemotherapy are controversial. Immunotherapy and targeted therapy highlight certain advantages in advanced patients, which still need to be verified by large sample studies, We provide a case of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for vaginal malignant melanoma. So far, no signs of disease recurrence have been found. As the price of chemotherapy drugs decreases, it is economically convenient and acceptable for most patients, but its effectiveness needs to be observed in large-scale clinical trials.

Clinical value of ultrasound in adult Wilms' tumor patient with uremia: A case report and literature review.
Wilms' tumor (WT) is the most common pediatric kidney malignancy and is rarely found in adults. Nonspecific clinical symptoms and imaging features often lead to delayed diagnosis or misdiagnosis of adult WT, resulting in poor clinical outcomes. Ultrasound (US), as an efficient and noninvasive examination method, has been widely used in clinical diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, various US evidence is meaningful to improve understanding of adult WT characteristics in ultrasound. ⋯ We report the first case in which CEUS was performed in an adult WT patient with uremia and multiple pulmonary metastases. The features obtained by the US can help in the diagnosis of adult WT and direct further diagnostic procedures.

A bibliometric analysis of global research trends of inflammation in cervical cancer: A review.
Cervical cancer is a common malignant tumor and a leading cause of death in women worldwide. It plays a crucial role in tumorigenesis and progression of cervical cancer. A total of 1606 references on inflammation in cervical cancer were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection and visual analysis was performed using VOSviewer. ⋯ Keywords associated with "apoptosis," "HPV," "NF-κB," and "oxidative stress have been used in many studies, and keywords associated with "apoptosis," "human papillomavirus (HPV)," "NF-κB," and "oxidative stress" are involved in many studies, and there may be more research ideas in the future. From the perspective of precision medicine, more substantive research articles can promote scientific value, strengthen communication and cooperation, produce more extensive research results, and greatly promote the clinical diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer. All procedures performed in this study involving human participants were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and/or national research committee and with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards.

Studies have confirmed that the health hazards of patients with lower limb injuries combined with osteoporosis are more obvious. This study is mainly based on the Taiwan National Health Insurance Database, and through big data analysis, it shows that the combined treatment of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is helpful to the health of patients with lower limb injuries combined with osteoporosis. A total of 9989 combined TCM-treated patients and 19,978 2:1 sex-, age-, and index-year-matched controls who did not receive TCM treatment were selected from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Database. ⋯ Cox proportional hazard regression analysis showed a lower rate of fracture surgery, inpatient and all-cause mortality for subjects in the combined TCM group (adjusted hazard ratios [HR] = 0.723; 95% confidence intervals [CI] = 0.604-0.810, P < .001; adjusted hazard ratios [HR] = 0.803; 95% CI = 0.712-0.950, P = .001; adjusted HR = 0.842; 95% CI = 0.731-0.953, P = .007, respectively). After 10 years of follow-up, the cumulative incidence of fracture surgery in patients combining TCM treatment seems to be half of that without combining TCM treatment those are shown in Kaplan-Meier analysis with statistically significant (log rank, P < .001, P < .001, and P = .010, respectively). This study hopes to provide clinicians with the option of combined TCM treatment for patients of lower limbs injuries combined with osteoporosis, so that such patients will be associate with a lower risk of fracture surgery, inpatient or all-cause mortality.

Procalcitonin and blood lactate level as predictive biomarkers in pediatric multiple trauma patients' pediatric intensive care outcomes: A retrospective observational study.
Pediatric trauma represents a significant source of morbidity and mortality in children, encompassing a broad spectrum of injuries. Despite advancements in the treatment and prevention of injuries, the risk of trauma in children remains a persistent concern. Severe trauma cases often necessitate admission to a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). ⋯ Procalcitonin and blood lactate levels were found to have significant predictive power for mortality with odds ratios of 1.05 (P = .04) and 1.87 (P = .02), respectively. Both blood lactate and procalcitonin levels were significantly associated with the duration of IMV support, the period of inotropic drug administration, and the length of PICU stay (P < .01; P < .01; P < .01, respectively). this research underscores the prognostic value of initial procalcitonin and lactate levels about the intensive care trajectory of pediatric trauma patients. The findings suggest that both procalcitonin and lactate levels may play pivotal roles as potential biomarkers in predicting and managing clinical outcomes in this population.
