We present a rare clinical case of a metastatic spinal tumor in the 7th thoracic spine from male breast cancer (MBC). ⋯ MBC is extremely rare, with fewer cases of spinal metastases. Among these, patients who undergo separation surgery are even rarer. This case shows that radical surgery can be an option for MBC with spine metastasis if indicated.

Prostate cancer is the most common malignant tumor of male urogenital system that occurs in prostate epithelium. However, relationship between CAV1 and KRT5 and prostate cancer remains unclear. The prostate cancer datasets GSE114740 and GSE200879 were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus generated by GPL11154 and GPL32170. ⋯ CAV1 and KRT5 are up-regulated in prostate cancer. CAV1 and KRT5 are highly expressed in prostate cancer. The higher expression of CAV1 and KRT5, the worse prognosis.

TNFAIP8L1, as a recently identified member in TNFAIP8 family, plays an important role in tumorigenesis. However, a pan-cancer analysis of TNFAIP8L1 in human tumors has not been conducted until now. The main purpose of study is to investigate TNFAIP8L1 during 33 different types of human tumors by using TCGA and GTEx. ⋯ Finally, TNFAIP8L1 gene had a significant positive association with 5 genes including BCL6B, DLL4, PCDH12, COL4A1 and DLL4 in the majority of tumors. GO enrichment and KEGG pathway analyses showed that TNFAIP8L1 in thepathogenesis of cancer may be related to "purine nucleoside binding," "purine ribonucleoside binding," "ECM-receptor interaction," etc. Our first pan-cancer study may provide a deep comprehending of TNFAIP8L1 in tumoeigenesis from different tumors.

Thoracic ossification of the ligamentum flavum (TOLF) is a rare pathology for which limited research exists. While it is known that mechanical factors play a role in the development of TOLF, little is currently understood about the sagittal alignment and related mechanical stress involved in its development. This study aims to describe the sagittal alignment of patients with TOLF based on the pathologic evolution of the Roussouly classification. ⋯ The level of IP and LA in type 3 moved caudally (around L2 and L4/5 level, respectively) and the LDI increased (77.98 ± 8.08%) than the normal standard value. The authors found that the majority of the patients had a false type 2 spine, which had evolved pathologically from Roussouly type 3 and exhibited increased LDI, a lowered level of IP, and a lowered level of LA. These changes of spinal shape, including the transition to long hypolordosis and increased length of the thoracic kyphosis, may have accentuated tensile stress at the lower thoracic spine and contributed to the development of TOLF.

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in the elderly is threatening the mental health of the elderly, and the interaction of some factors is worth exploring. This study aims to explore the interactions of obesity and gene polymorphisms in the relationship with MCI. A total of 2555 community resident dwellings include 444 participants who met MCI criteria recruited from the Ningxia province of China. ⋯ Multifactor dimensionality reduction analysis showed a strong antagonistic effect between obesity and rs4402960 (Interaction dendrogram between obesity and rs4402960 is red) and a weak synergy effect on rs7901695 (Interaction dendrogram between obesity and rs7901695 is green). The hierarchical analysis showed obesity is a risk factor for MCI in the non-rs4402960T allele carrier group (OR = 1.55, 95%CI: 1.02-2.35). This study found that obesity is an independent risk factor for MCI, and the interactions with MCI-susceptible gene polymorphisms suggest a possible precision preventive intervention program should be developed to reduce the risk of MCI among individuals with obesity in the community.
