Immune and inflammatory responses play an important role in tumorigenesis and metastasis. Inflammation is an important component of the tumor microenvironment, and the changes in inflammatory cells may affect the occurrence and development of tumors. ⋯ The value of peripheral blood inflammation indexes in predicting the efficacy and prognosis of breast cancer neoadjuvant therapy is worth recognizing. This review details the application of peripheral blood inflammation indexes in the evaluation of efficacy and prediction of prognosis in neoadjuvant therapy for breast cancer, aiming to provide a more comprehensive reference for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Obesity is a complex, multifactorial disease. The incidence of overweight and obesity has doubled worldwide since 1980, and nearly one-third of the world population is now classified as overweight or obese. Obesity rates are increasing in all age groups and for both sexes, regardless of geographic region, race, or socioeconomic status, although they are generally higher in older adults and women. ⋯ Although the drug treatment model of modern medicine has a significant therapeutic effect in the treatment of obesity, its adverse effects are also obvious. Acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine treatment of obesity has prominent advantages in terms of clinical efficacy, and its clinical safety is higher, with fewer adverse reactions. The combination of acupuncture and medicine in the treatment of obesity is worth exploring.

Laparoscopic radical surgery for locally advanced T4 transverse colon cancer and prognostic factors analysis: Evidence from multi-center databases.
The safety and efficacies of laparoscopic radical procedures are still controversial for locally advanced pathological T4 (pT4) TCC (transverse colon cancer). Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate the oncologic and perioperative outcomes and to recognize the prognostic factors in radical resection for pT4 TCC derived from multi-center databases. 314 patients with TCC who underwent radical resection between January 2004 and May 2017, including 139 laparoscopic resections and 175 open resections, were extracted from multicenter databases. Oncological as well as perioperative outcomes were investigated. ⋯ These findings underscore the significance of differentiation and N classification as key determinants of patient outcomes in this context. Overall, the laparoscopic approach may offer advantages in terms of shorter hospital stays, while maintaining comparable oncological outcomes. Laparoscopic radical procedure can gain a couple of short-term benefits without reducing long-term oncological survival for patients with pT4 TCC.

The implementation and effect evaluation of AIDET standard communication health education mode under the King theory of goal attainment: A randomized control study.
This research addresses inadequate understanding of interventional prenatal diagnosis, preoperative anxiety psychological problems in pregnant women undergoing interventional prenatal diagnosis, proposing a health education mode combined AIDET standard communication and King's theory of goal attainment approach to potentially improve health education outcomes, anxiety psychological problems, and patient satisfaction. ⋯ Using the AIDET standard communication health education model under the King theory of goal attainment in nurse-patient communication is conducive to the rapid establishment of a harmonious and trusting nurse-patient relationship between pregnant women and nurses, helping pregnant women and nurses jointly promote the establishment and implementation of health education goals, helping to improve pregnant women's acceptance of information related to interventional prenatal diagnosis, health education and the procedure of walking on the day of surgery. It helps enhance the effectiveness of health education and satisfaction, reducing pregnant women's uncertainty about the disease, their unfamiliarity with the surgery environment and surgery procedure, and their preoperative anxiety.

Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) controls cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and other biological processes that have an essential role in eye diseases. However, it seems that previous studies have generated conflicting conclusions about the effect of CaMKII on cell apoptosis. ⋯ We can safely conclude that the early elevation of CaMKII could be viewed as a promoter of cell apoptosis. Overexpression of CaMKII by transfection or pretreatment with drugs helped combat cell apoptosis.
