Anesthetic management for emergency cesarean section in a patient with status epilepticus: A case report.
The presence of clinically significant repeated maternal epilepsies during pregnancy increases the risk of adverse maternal, fetal and neonatal outcomes. However, there are few guidelines for anesthesiologists to deal with this situation. ⋯ Providing anesthesia to patients undergoing cesarean section poses major challenges for anesthesiologists. Close monitoring and proper treatment can help reduce risks for both the mother and baby.

Radiation shielding effects of lead equivalent thickness of a radiation protective apron and distance during C-arm fluoroscopy-guided pain interventions: A randomized trial.
The present study aimed to evaluate the degree of radiation shielding effects according to lead equivalent thickness and distance during C-arm fluoroscopy-guided lumbar interventions. ⋯ The 0.3- and 0.6-mm lead equivalent thickness protectors have a radiation attenuation effect of 78.1% to 78.5% and 90.4% to 90.8%, respectively. The 5-cm distance from the side of the table reduces radiation exposure by 33.3% to 36.1%.

To investigate the correlation between central arterial pressure (CAP) parameters and the severity of atherosclerotic lesions in the coronary arteries, understand the value of CAP in assessing the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD), and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of CHD. Between January 2021 and January 2022, 224 patients admitted to our hospital for complete coronary angiography (CAG) were included in this retrospective study. CAP parameters, including central systolic pressure (CSP), diastolic pressure (CDP), and pulse pressure (CPP), and Gensini scores were collected; the association between CAP parameters and the severity of coronary lesions was analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r) and multivariate regression analysis. ⋯ CSP, CDP, and CPP were significantly higher in the high Gensini score group than in the low Gensini score group for coronary vascular lesions; furthermore, CSP and CPP were significantly higher in the high Gensini score group than in the medium Gensini score group (P < .05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that CSP and CPP were positively and CDP was negatively correlated with the severity of coronary artery lesions in patients with CHD (P < .05). Logistic regression analysis showed that a history of diabetes, CSP, CDP, and CPP were independent risk factors for severe atherosclerotic lesions in the coronary arteries (P < .05). noninvasive CAP-related indices, such as CSP, CDP, and CPP, are independently correlated with and can be used to predict the severity of coronary lesions in patients with CHD, which may be beneficial for guiding clinical diagnosis and treatment.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of internal fixation with locking compression plates (LCP) in the treatment of patients with extremity fractures and the effect on the recovery of limb function. A total of 488 patients with extremity fractures admitted to our hospital from June 2019 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) group (n = 236) and internal fixation with LCP group (n = 252) according to the surgical procedure. Outcome indicators included intraoperative bleeding, operative time, length of hospital stay, pain duration, quality of life, healing time of the fracture, postoperative complications, and restoration of limb function as per the X-ray examination results and Johner-Wruhs criteria. ⋯ The recovery of limb function was significantly better in the LCP group than in the ORIF group (97.22% vs 85.17%, P < .001). The overall satisfaction rate of treatment in the LCP group was higher than that in the ORIF group (92.06% vs 81.90%, P < .001). Internal fixation with LCP in patients with extremity fractures can effectively promote the recovery of limb function, reduce the incidence of complications and improve the quality of life of patients.

Distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) instability is a common postoperative complication of distal radius fractures, seriously impacting patients' quality of life. This study investigated its possible influencing factors to determine prognosis and to guide treatment better. We retrospectively included a series of patients with distal radius fractures that underwent volar locking plate fixation. ⋯ At 6 months of follow-up, 54 patients (34.0%) had DRUJ instability, and multivariate analysis showed coronal plane displacement (OR, 1.665; 95% CI, 1.091-2.541), fracture classification (OR, 0.679; 95% CI, 0.468-0.984) and DRUJ interval (OR, 1.960; 95% CI, 1.276-3.010) were associated with DRUJ instability after volar locking plate. DRUJ interval, coronal plane displacement, and fracture classification are associated with DRUJ instability during follow-up. Therefore, preoperative risk communication and intraoperative attention to recovering relevant imaging parameters are necessary for these patients.
