Lactational mastitis is a common and frequently disease in clinical practice, characterized by acute inflammation of the mammary ducts and surrounding connective tissues. The main manifestations are damage to the mammary gland acini, edema, and invasion of inflammatory cells. If not treated properly, it may lead to the formation of breast abscesses, or even sepsis, septic shock, and chronic inflammation of the breast, which may cause the disease to persist or recur multiple times, so that the patients suffer extreme pain, and the health of both the mother and child are directly affected. This disease not only causes suffering for women but also may result in the cessation of breastfeeding. Therefore, rapid and effective treatment is particularly important. ⋯ The treatment of lactation mastitis with Gualou Xiaoyong soup and painless lactation promoting techniques can achieve good clinical results.

The objective of this study is to explore the potential mechanism of action of Total glucosides of paeony (TGP) in the treatment of autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT). The study utilized literature mining to obtain the active ingredients of TGP. Databases such as Super-PRED, similarity ensemble approach, and Swiss Target Prediction were utilized to predict the targets of the active ingredients. ⋯ The important targets of the protein protein interaction network were identified as interleukin-6, proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase, epidermal growth factor receptor, among others. The molecular docking validation results showed that Paeoniflorin, albiflorin, and benzoylpaeoniflorin and oxypaeoniflor all bind well to interleukin-6, epidermal growth factor receptor, and proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase. This study reveals the multi-component, multi-target and multi-pathway mechanism of action of TGP in regulating AIT and provides a reference for subsequent basic research.

Ovarian cancer (OC) is the leading cause of gynecological cancer-related deaths in the United States. The purpose of this study was to evaluate long-term trends in OC incidence and incidence-based mortality rates (IBM) in the U. S. from 1975 to 2018 and to assess the effects of age, period, and cohort factors on OC incidence and mortality using an age-period-cohort model. ⋯ In addition, this study analyzed the changes in trends in OC incidence and mortality by race/ethnicity in the U. S. Monitoring trends in OC incidence and mortality by race/ethnicity can help in the development of targeted prevention and treatment measures.

Stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) has a high mortality rate due to the lack of highly sensitive biomarkers. Therefore, the search for potential tumor markers is of great value. ASF1B is a prognostic marker for a variety of tumors, while the prognostic value and immune microenvironment of ASF1B in STAD remain unclear, and to be determined. ⋯ Analysis of tumor immune infiltration showed that ASF1B expression was significantly associated with the majority of immune cell infiltration in STAD. Moreover, STAD patients with high ASF1B expression had a higher tumor mutation burden score, microsatellite instability score, PD-1 immunophenoscore, and immune checkpoint expression. Our results suggest that ASF1B was an independent prognostic factor for STAD as well as a potential target for immunotherapy.

The causal association between circulating β-carotene concentrations and cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains controversial. We conducted a Mendelian randomization study to explore the effects of β-carotene on various cardiovascular diseases, including myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and stroke. Three single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with the β-carotene levels were obtained by searching published data and used as instrumental variables. ⋯ Sensitivity analysis produced consistent results. This study provides evidence for a causal relationship between circulating β-carotene and myocardial infarction. These findings have important implications for understanding the role of β-carotene in CVD and may inform dietary recommendations and intervention strategies for preventing myocardial infarction.
